Are the ATT trade in rebates separate from the Samsung rebates?

ATT had an iphone trade in deal if you ordered a new smart phone by 9/30, you could trade in an iphone 4 for $200 rebate. I also have a samsung skyrocket that is worth $30 according to ATT that I could trade in as well.

Can I get the $200 from ATT for the iphone4 and $170 from Samsung for the skyrocket trade in?

The Samsung rebate states "This Offer cannot be combined with, and is not valid with, any other rebate, offer, or discount"

Would that be considered combining rebates? It doesn't seem like it....

Would Samsung know about the ATT rebate and vice versa?

I haven't looked at the details, but it shouldn't be a problem. I did a similar thing last year with both AT&T and HTC trade-in promos (trading in three phones to AT&T and one to HTC).

From the reading I did on this promotion, Samsung gives you the difference in trade-in from your carrier, up to the $200. You have to provide a receipt with the trade-in information from your carrier to Samsung. If the carrier gives you $50, Samsung will give you $150. If the carrier gives you $200, Samsung will give you $0. That's how it read to me.

That is correct...My question though is can I get two different rebates? Not sure if you read my complete post but I have another phone that I can trade in that is worth $30.

Rebate 1 (ATT): order/pre-order a new smart phone by 09/30 and get $200 trade in rebate for iphone 4

Rebate 2 (Samsung): pre-order Note by 10/16 and get the difference between trade in and $200 (in my case $170 for my Samsung Skyrocket).

I wouldn't think that Samsung would know about the ATT rebate and that ATT would not know about the Samsung rebate.

Just traded in my iphone4 at an ATT store for a $200 gift card that was credited to my account. Forgot to bring my sky rocket trade in though so I will do that this evening...Once I have that receipt for $30 trade in, I will submit my Samsung rebate for $170...

Would you be buying two Note 4s? I'd think that's the only way possible, since AT&T won't just trade in two phones separately for the one phone on one plan and give you different receipts.

I wouldn't think that Samsung would know about the ATT rebate and that ATT would not know about the Samsung rebate.

If the first rebate applies to any smartphone purchase from AT&T and not just a new iPhone 6 as I heard about in the past, then yeah I'd think so since the two programs don't overlap.

Got mine yesterday. What's the best case for it?

I got the Ringke Slim case in black - honestly the thinnest case I've ever gotten. It really adds no bulk to the phone.

However it basically is just protecting against scratches - I don't have any confidence the tiny lip will provide any drop protection on the display.

I ordered the Spigen Slim case to compare - it looks a bit thicker but gives more protection.

You don't have to buy a new phone when you do a trade in...you just walk in a store, trade it in and get the trade in value

From their website:

Trade in or recycle your wireless device and accessories

Have any unwanted wireless devices, batteries, and/or accessories? If so, we offer two programs to help you and help the environment:

Trade-in Program - Receive an AT&T Promotion Card worth the trade-in value of your smartphone, tablet, or netbook. You can also donate the trade-in value to Cell Phones for Soldiers, an AT&T-designated charity.
Reuse & Recycle program - Take an active role in preventing any wireless devices, batteries, or accessories from going in a landfill.

You don't have to be an AT&T customer to take advantage of this great environmental program that also puts something extra in your pocket for qualified wireless devices.

I would do the trade-in on two separate transactions...

So, those of you that have the Note 4, how's the battery life? Reviews are saying that it's no better than Apple's iPhone 6+. I thought that a higher res screen made for more efficiency. What say you?

Finally ordered the Note 4 on release day (in the UK anyway), contract pricing dropped like a stone in the last 48 hours from £40+ to £20+, settled on £30.99 (£128.99 up front) for Unlimited Minutes and SMS & 2GB 4G Data.

Arrives in 7-10 days (sold out initial 2 batches in under 4 hours apparently) so I have time to find the right case & screen protector. Gonna be a great upgrade form a Galaxy S3 16GB (Exynos w/ eMMC bug).

That makes no sense.

After using it more, a couple more thoughts. It's sharing duties right now with my OPO b/c I don't have a tempered glass screen protector that fits properly yet (on order) and don't want to even have a chance to scratch the display. So I don't have a good sense of battery life yet.

1. The display really is noticeably better than the OPO screen. In Basic mode, the contrast between dark and light content is substantial (I have a dark live background which probably highlights it). There's not a single thing I can fault it for.

2. Oddly it feels lighter than the OPO though it's not. I don't know if it's the distribution of weight or something, but the OPO feels denser. Maybe it's just my head.

3. Performance in day to day use is smooth, though so is the OPO. Outside of 3D gaming, I do think phones are reached a point where you can't distinguish any difference in day to day use.

Like others have noted, there is a bit of delay in clicking Recent Apps. It doesn't bother me since I don't hit it very often, nor does it bother me when it occurs. However it is the only time you'll feel a delay.

4. Battery life seems good but between the Note 3, OPO, and Note 4, they seem in the same ballpark. All have very good battery life and until the Note 4 becomes my only daily phone, I won't be able to tell which is the best. But it certainly isn't a full 2 day heavy use phone like the Z3 Compact (though in fairness no other phone is).

So far I really like the phone, mostly b/c the display is so great and the build feels very good in hand. I'm still fighting the temptation to root and change the lcd_density, but I want to give the devs more of a chance to see if a way to root without triggering Knox will be found.

That makes no sense.

I think he's referring to AMOLED screens not necessarily drawing more power as resolution increases like LCDs due to not needing a stronger backlight.

I think the screen was objectively measured to draw less power than the Note 3 1080p screen - it's not really a subjective thing.

I don't think Android phones at similar specs will match an iOS device in battery life due to Apple's greater control of hardware and software. The Note 4 seems to be pretty close regardless and both should easily get most users through a full day.

So the Best Buy deal was amazing. I got $250! back for a $40 phone I bought from THEM earlier this month (extra $50 bonus for being a reward member). Oh and I used a 3X reward coupon. After all that my wife's Note 4 was almost free.
