Note 4 (now $200 rebate with any $10+ trade-in!)

So for those that have Tmobile... does it indicate to you that you preordered the note 4 somewhere? I did a preorder this past Monday and I know preorder status was until the 17th I believe but when checking the tmobile website now it now says "Ships in 4-7 days".

Hopefully I'm not disqualified from the rebate since the receipt does not say anything about the Note 4 being preordered.

Ok I should be good... it's based off of a Preorder period... for Tmobile it's until 10/16/2014.

As for the TIV... I'm just waiting for the phone to arrive from amazon... Kyocera C5166 $10

Is it just me or was the AT review disappointing? Josh rambled on with awkward sentences and less insight than usual, he seemed much more interested in the IP6+. For the time ever I thought there were better reviews elsewhere.

Which screen protector did you get and did it fit well? The one I got from Amazon for about $10 fit terribly - the edges didn't take into account the curved glass and the cut-outs were off. Pretty much everything I've heard on xda so far has all of them fitting poorly as they made the same mistake.

I hope I don't have to wait for 2nd round of protectors to be released for the Note 4 to find a good one.

"Value" is such a personal viewpoint, but I do find the Note 4 well worth the price difference with the pre-order $200 off. Simply not having any touchscreen weirdness is such a relief aside from all the updates (display, camera, fingerprint, etc). However at full price...I'm not sure myself.

They took their time with the iPhone review, but seemed to rush to meet the same embargo that all other sites did with the Note 4. Unfortunately it's not surprising, AT has a history of being more in depth and not rushing with Apple products.

Any good tips on the best phone to trade in, in terms of retail cost to me (cheap as possible) yet hitting that $10 trade-in value?

I purchased a Sprint LG Tribute (because I'm currently on Sprint and they won't buy out your contract unless the phone you trade in is on the carrier you're currently on) from BestBuy today for $39.99. It's not on their trade-in tool, so the store manager said he'd give me $10 for it.

You might want to call your local store manager and talk with them.

That's exactly what I did! I sorted "off contract phones" by price and went through the T-Mobile TIV checker one by one. Gave up after awhile. I do have a Galaxy S3 worth $70 so I may just use that.

Yea I'm planning on bringing my $6 TIV Nokia to my local T-Mobile store tomorrow and seeing if the manager will give me $4 more TIV. If not I'll use an old Galaxy S3 I have.

it has some gimmicky system to help line up the film before you remove the back sticker (using stickers to indicate where the edge of the protector should be placed) but I didn't use it and I centered it with no issues...

Not really much to add over the previous posts/reviews on the phone...I love the screen (slight noticeably difference over the 3 - getting the $200 trade in rebate made me happier in my decision to upgrade)...

not sure if it is a placebo effect or not, but the phone does feel a tad bit more responsive for my flash-based games (even after a factory wipe on the Note 3)...

The audio from the rear speaker is pretty good actually...I was not really expecting much after seeing that the speaker was moved to the back. Granted I was listening in a fairly quiet room and not in a noisy environment for whatever that is worth...

I read the Note 4 review and it's indeed meh. Then again AT's iPhone reviews were meh, too. I am sure the authors are very knowledgeable folks but their writings leave something to be desired. (especially if they want to hide their Apple bias :biggrin

Yeah no one can submit it yet. General thinking is the launch day was supposed to be the 17th so could be the IMEIs and such aren't loaded yet. Will be trying again tomorrow.

As for the case, I ordered the Joto bumper case off amazon. I think the full back cases trap in heat.

Is anyone having a signal bar problem? Mine only shows 2 bars at work when I used to get 4 on my BB.
