Wow, the BB promo is sick. Glad I semi-periodically lurk these boards. Want to trade in my GS3, but my 2 year upgrade date isn't till mid december. I hope AT&T lets me upgrade a little early.

I'm loving the upgrade from my GS3 to the Note 4. I'm readjusting to Touchwiz after being on a rooted stock ROM with the Apex launcher previously. It is still taking some getting used to the recent apps button versus holding down the main button.

With the Spigen case on the phone, the S-pen can be a bit rough to get out of its holder is my main complaint.

I had some rough business with the promotion after pre-ordering in-store at a local T-Mobile store. T-mobile's website wouldn't let me initiate the trade-in, claiming an invalid order number, and the store was wanting me to initiate a return (buyer's remorse period) to ship this one back and come in to buy a new one to perform the trade-in. Calling t-mobile's support line, they worked extra hard to read the samsung promotion's details and accommodate me even though their systems still wouldn't take the order number. After my experience with other major carrier's customer service, I am again quite happy with T-Mobile.

With the small update from T-mobile (NJ7), I'm getting around 1% per hour usage during standby. So overnight from midnight to 8:30AM on wifi, battery dropped about 8%.

While it's not bad by any means, I feel like my other phones (OPO, Note 3 running custom 4.4.4 ROM) do a tiny bit better - maybe would drop 5% during the same timeframe.

Not a big deal and I'm still running completely stock with pretty much everything enabled (high accuracy location, bluetooth, NFC) and everything syncing (email, facebook, etc).

is anyone else having problems submitting the receipts? I'm at the upload screen and it says

"I am sorry your IMEI/HEX MEID and/or MAC Address were not valid. Please try again or select the Mail in radio button to send in your receipt and a copy of your email for evaluation by a fulfillment agent."

I have AT&T

Still can't submit. If it doesn't go on Monday, I'll mail it in. I'm thinking maybe you have to have the phone for the 14 day buyer's remorse period?

Has anyone else had success?

Am I over-complicating things? I pre-ordered from Verizon directly but want to trade-in my old device to Best Buy ($15 for my Fascinate vs. $7 from VZW). Sound like a disaster waiting to happen?

Best buy won't let you double dip. With that said, if you do Best Buy be sure to sign up for the rewards program beforehand for the extra $50.

I'm not after best buy's rebate; I'm just after the bigger trade in value.

Honestly Best Buy trade in is the better deal because its $250 applied immediately instead of a $200 mail-in-rebate. You should try and see if you can get that deal, and if so cancel your Verizon preorder. Deal is still live at Best buy through 10/31:

Just make sure you sign up for the reward program beforehand to get the extra $50.

If you want to keep the Verizon pre-order you will have to find a phone Verizon thinks is $10. Best Buy doesn't care about the value of the phone for their deal, just that the screen is not chipped or heavily scratched.

I have no link, they just did it for me. Even without it, Best Buy is still the best deal as who wants to deal with a mail-in-rebate?

Depends what method(s) you can use to keep your Verizon UDP

I don't know about Verizon, but they let my wife keep her unlimited AT&T.

My understanding is you can't get upgrades with the Verizon unlimited data plan, so if you are buying outright Verizon might be the better option.

I'm not buying outright but there are a number of workarounds to keep it. I'll figure it out

It has to show up in their system apparently.
hit up bestbuy support on twitter. They'll sort it out for you.

Wife got the note 4 yesterday. I sold it today for $665 cash. Going to move her to T-mobile so we'll use that cash towards her new phone on t-mo

I tried it as well, but they had the Nokia Lumia 530 in their system while it sold for $60 on the shelf. They claimed that their pre-order had ended or was full. This was an LA store last week, the last day of the promotion.

For most users, the $200 pre-order site was rejecting all submissions with an invalid IMEI message. Well looks like they finally figured out their issues and the site worked for my T-mobile Note 4.

Also for those who missed this deal but still want a Note 4, Samsung has a new $200 trade-in when purchasing a Note 4 deal - so pretty much the same thing without the pre-order. The only real difference is the purchase and trade-in need to be at the same retailer (unlike the pre-order offer).

https://samsunggalaxypromotions.com/tradein

The analogous Best Buy offer is more convenient for those buying on contract, though I've heard of Best Buy giving some hassle if you're trying to buy the phone outright. This may be an alternative for non-contract buyers or for those looking to buy the T-mobile version b/c of the unlocked bootloader.

They took my Metro PCS Nokia 520. I just called it a plain Nokia 520, and they treated it like alien technology and trusted me. Even though the exact device was five feet away in their own store.

So I "pre-ordered" the Note 4 from T-Mobile at the last minute on 10/16 (it was like 11:50PM). I don't believe any of my email receipts mention "pre-order".

I also haven't done a trade-in yet with one of my old phones (not able to find one yet that's worth at least $10). I was reading the fine print of the original pre-order promo and it sounds like as long as I buy the Note 4 by 10/16 I can do the trade-in after 10/16, and not necessarily at the same store?

Would someone please confirm I'm reading this right? Since without the $200 rebate I'll be returning the phone.
