That's the sad truth about Android, the SD card management sucks!
It makes me long for the symbian days, despite its quirky execution it had great sd management, now it's up to WP8 to pick up the slack.
This is a JellyBean limitation not a phone limitation. There are mods that allow you to move apps to the sdcard, but you need root and may need to be using specific roms.

ok, this phone is nice and all, but why wasn't this mentioned in any reviews? it is a serious limitation on the phone. i can't install appsvto SD. a 16 gb model only has 10 gb available after bloatware. i got a 64gb sd for nothing
if you upgraded to JB then you can keep the option afaik, but in JB alone you can't. at all i think.
on mine i use directory bind to move folders to my sd card and link them. works since with thumbnail caches etc you run out space pdq.
oh, if you use the app - bare in mind the target is your internal memory and the source is your sd card. it's a bit unintuitive
