When planning an event for a community, GIVE A FREAKING ADDRESS. New comers will love you for it. Don't give directions like "It is by noland park". They don't know where the heck noland park is.
The back story.
We have a community event that I wanted to go to and was expected to be at. I don't know anyone here (conundrum, I know, I'm expected to be there, yet have no contacts.) So when I was given directions they were on the order of "It is the place outside next to noland park. just around the corner." When I asked for clarification, I got none. Just give me a damn address that I can put into my gps, heck even "Left at the green house" would be better then random names of parks that I've never been to.
I'm slightly irritated about it, I spent 20mins driving around looking for the event and have given up. These stupid ass people complain that they don't get more new comers showing up to their events, yet they are dumb enough not to put them in the same place, or give any sort of clear instructions about how to get there. Gee, I wonder why someone that hasn't lived here for 50 years doesn't show up to your community events...:thumbsdown:
Needless to say, after being 20 mins late, I said screw it and went home. I tried, I really did.
Whats worse, they have a community center that is pretty prominent and has lots of facilities. But rather then hosting everything there, they have to move around everywhere in town. I swear they haven't hosted on thing in the same spot since I've been here.
