so there i was, 10 mins till closing time (im a cashier at lowes) and a woman walks up with a water heater on a cart. right when she walked up she made a quip about wondering if she would get a senior citizen discount for it. so i thought i would try to be nice and suggest that she looked much younger than she was (assuming she was 50-some and really did look young for her age). so i said she must be like only 40 or so. instantly the smile dropped from her face and she looked me square in the eye and said "FVCKER." naturally, i didnt quite know how to respond to that, so i just finished her order and sent her on her way. i did manage to sneak a peak at her dl when she got her card out though. turns out i was right on the money.

moral of the story: dont ever try to discuss a customers age with them.
