Notebook Dilema

I am going to purchase a new notebook on tuesday but am stuck on two choices. I can go with a toshiba specs following:

1.1GHz Pentium III
512MB RAM
16MB nvidia geforece 2 go

Or a compaq model

1.0GHz Pentium III-M
512 MB RAM
16MB ATI Radeon Mobility M6

I had a toshiba before, very fast an easy to use, but the thing bothering me is to go with the newer mobile .13 micron PIII or go with the toshiba and get the better graphics? Both have a 2099 price tag with 15 inch screen, 8x dvd, and 8x4x32 CD-RW. The toshiba also had the harmon kardon speakers with subwoofer. I just want to know what all of you think because I want this to be a good decision, will the 1.1GHz perform better than the 1.0GHz PIII-M?

Either one looks like a nice system, but I think that the Toshiba is clearly the better choice. AFAIK, the 1.1 will still be fater than the 1.0, and since the specs are otherwise equal the Toshiba's including a set of speakers puts it over the top. I'd love to reccommend the Compaq just because I'm an ATI nut, but I don't really like Compaq and I've heard only good things about Toshibas.

I'm not sure, but aren't all P3's above 1.0ghz M models? (.13 micron) I remember that Intel couldn't get the .18 micron P3 to go above 1ghz (1.13ghz recall)

The Geforce 2 Go on the system-is it a standard Go, Go100, or Go200? The latter two are both inferior to the original Go.

i guess your not interested in a Dell - they have some really good deals going on. Too bad you won't be able to have it by Tuesday, heeh.

The Toshiba would be my choice. The GeForce 2 Go really tips the scales and outweighs the slight CPU difference - especially if you occasionally weaken and play games.

Compaq is good, but overall they tend to be a bit too proprietary for my purposes.

Ionizer86 beat me to it. The Toshiba comes with the Tualatin processor. So you are getting both the .13u CPU and the GeForce2GO with the Toshiba.
