Notebook graphics card upgradeable?

I am considering purchasing this notebook. Can I upgrade the graphics card on my own?

1) I will be yanking it from another dv9000t notebook.
2) Once I yank it from the other notebook, how can I tell if the original notebook has an integrated graphics chip?

Am I in over my head?

You may want to investigate online to see if there is a guide for this. I know that some of the laptops can be upgraded, but not all. And even if the same machine has two different options for graphics, it could be possible that they also have two different motherboards.

If the original notebook is running with integrated graphics, it is possible that you cannot upgrade at all, even if the notebook had versions that were sold with dedicated GPUs. I know with Dell notebooks, ordering a notebook with integrated graphics means that you will not be able to upgrade because the socket which a dedicated card would plug into is not in the notebook. The socket is only in the notebook when the notebook is ordered with a dedicated GPU. HP could be the same way, but as TheStue said, best to search online to see if your plan will work.

in addition to that, notebooks are built with certain specifications in mind. in other words the gpu hsf might or might not be suitable enough to cool something larger/more powerful.

also, and as far as i know integrated graphics are soldiered onto the motherboard. and thats basically what the one in that link is.

Thanks, all! I went and price matched at Best Buy today for a different computer. Decided I was in over my head.
