Noteworthy Target deals

2. Rival 20 Quart Stainless Steel Crock Pot $17.44 (was $69.99). This thing looks really awesome, i.e. Stainless Steel, and is big enough to fit a turkey. Great Buy.

The above two deals are obviously 75% off.

3. Igloo 56 Quart cooler with two wheels $10.99 (was $21.99) even though this is only 50% off I believe it is still an awesome deal. The Igloo line of wheeled coolers is being replaced by Coleman which in my opinion is not as good. But check it out for yourself.

They did do alot of markdowns in the stationary dept. Some items 30% others 50%.

btw...The roaster will be hard to find at this time for most people. It went 75% off over 2 weeks ago. The keyboard just dropped at some stores today.

carmann I agree these will probably be tough to find but whoever does will score big time. I have seen all three still available at different stores.

If you yourself need one I know the Target on the corner of Sepulveda and Burbank has the roaster. Just one though. It's on the top shelf of the roasters section. A bit of a drive for you though.

This keyboard uses six D cells and the AC adapter is optional. The adapter can be direct ordered for $22 shipped. Maybe the adapter is included, but the Casio website says optional. I guess you could get a generic.

Keyboard looks like a sweet deal. My cousin is into writing his own music and such, would make a great birthday present...

What else would bne required to get this keyboard to interface with a PC? Is there a midi PCI card or somthing or is there a MIDI to serial adapter cable? Somebody who knows please post or PM me.

You should check the keyboard specs and see if it's "General MIDI" compatible. It makes it a lot easier to setup instrumentation and such and to use the keyboard as a SYNTH that way, not critical, but, it helps.

As for connecting to the PC, Most soundcards have a MIDI in/out port--you just don't see it. Generally it's the same port as the Joystick Port on the soundcard. If that's the case, you can probably find the right joystick-to-midi cable at PC Store that carries cables like CompUSA or BestBuy, etc. You'll also need some (2) MIDI cables to go to/from the keyboard to/from the Joystick port converter cable.

Some newer soundcards (PCI Variety) have breakout boxes that you can buy with the various ports and they may use other types of conversion cables. If that's the case, you may have to special order the cables you need.

Don't forget you'll need some software that can read / write the MIDI commands through that port. (Assuming you actually want to record and edit the music you are playing). There are probably freeware and shareware software available online. If you go to a store, look at the software section first, some include the joystick <-> Midi cable in the box. One less thing to buy.

There are other types of connectors, I believe some motherboards allow MIDI connections via the serial port.

Went to my nearest Target and found two CTK-471's with a shelf price of $99 but no CTK-451's. I price checked the 471's and they were still $99. Went to another Target and they had NO keyboards anywhere in sight... that is until I moved a couple of boxes and found an open box 471. I looked inside and none of the contents had been molested so I decided to price check it and it came up at $24.94! I grabbed that along with some AA Duracells and went home.

BTW, I cannot find a difference between the CTK-451 and the CTK-471.

Do a search for "midi" at http://www.axiontech.com/ one of these cables is all you need to hookup a midi keyboard to a pc with midi/joystick port. (it even has a piggyback gameport on the cable so you can have your joystick hooked up at the same time if you want)
