Kentucky Republican Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and his wife "send our prayers" and Kentucky Republican Rand Paul and his wife "are praying." A message to them - Hey, you guys, it's not helping!
"Prayers" is just boiler-plate.

According to the bible thumpers (apologies to those who are religious, and sane), it's all we need. Guns and a bible.
Find me a man who was saved from death by his bible stopping a bullet and you have the next POTUS, yes sir.

According to 2A advocates, only way to stop a bullet is with another bullet.

The podcast "This Is Actually Happening" had a miniseries ("Point Blank") about the 2017 Rancho Tehama shooting that is a tough but good listen.

Is it a lack of school shootings this past week that these “home invasions” are getting so much coverage? Like I doubt there’s any reason for a sudden surge of these incidents in this past week. And why didn’t this guy have his doors locked? Or did he get spooked that much by 2 white girls pulling at his locked door that he had to chase them down? But as a Mexican, sadly he’s going to be rotting in jail

No, there has been at least 2 school shootings this last week, just neither of them had 4 or more people shot, so don't count as 'mass shootings'.
All of these things are pretty common. It is just that these particular events became topical after one story went viral so news agencies are prioritizing those stories to cash in on the interest.

Teens and guns. This is what could possibly go wrong.

4 dead, more than 20 wounded in Dadeville, AL (pop about 3000) at a dance studio during a Sweet 16 birthday party. Edit: now they're saying 4 dead 15 wounded. 5 critical.
Edit: now they're saying at least 28 injured. I do not know if all those were shooting injuries.

That's about all I see out there so far information wise.

And, for anyone who is keeping score, this is the 162nd mass shooting in the country this year - that's in the last 106 days. 162 in 106 days. It's got to stop. We have to make it stop.

Two teens, brothers, ages 16 and 17 have been arrested. No word on a motive yet.

Well... Well....
I was very amazed to see MSNBC Chris Hayes on his show airing 4/20 to spend his entire first segment talking about THE PARANOIA. Gun paranoia. Fox News paranoia. Fear paranoia. I'm glad to see my analysis catching on. And after all, I was the first to claim that Donald Trump was nothing more than a cult way back in 2016. Bill Maher was the first to pick up on that, and called Trump a cult on his show. Now, today, this is common knowledge and Trump followers considered cult members by everyone.
Fairly simple analysis, pretty obvious, but glad to see it catching on. Like I said long long ago, Donald Trump was a cult, and people with guns are seriously paranoid.

Me: When you have more guns because of more gun violence then you create an extremely paranoid society and... paranoid people within that society.

'The U.S. is setting a record pace for mass killings in 2023, replaying the horror on a loop roughly once a week so far this year.

The carnage has taken 88 lives in 17 mass killings over 111 days. Each time, the killers wielded firearms. Only 2009 was marked by as many such tragedies in the same period of time.

Children at a Nashville grade school, gunned down on an ordinary Monday. Farmworkers in Northern California, sprayed with bullets over a workplace grudge. Dancers at a ballroom outside Los Angeles, massacred as they celebrated the Lunar New Year.

In just the last week, four partygoers were slain and 32 injured in Dadeville, Alabama, when bullets rained down on a Sweet 16 celebration. And a man just released from prison fatally shot four people, including his parents, in Bowdoin, Maine, before opening fire on motorists traveling a busy interstate highway.'

I know the numbers don't automagically increase every year, and it's more of an ebb & flow...until you look at it by decade. How is it going to look in another 20 or 30 years, with gun rights and regulations being loosened as or more often than being better regulated and necessarily restricted.

Only if they are trained on using guns...

Uhhhhhhh, oops.

The headline of that story is sickening.

The little girl in the story I was quoting was 6 years old. No way a 6 year old should ever be near a live firearm.

Also, regarding the 17 year old girl killed in the story you quoted, what kind of moron points a firearm at any other person? You _NEVER_ point a firearm, regardless of whether you believe it is loaded or not, at anyone. The business end is always facing away from you, and also facing away from anyone else.

'Having a son gunned down brought sorrow and despair to their family. Now a granddaughter had perished, too.

The girl, Se’Cret Pierce, died Friday morning. She was 2 years old when her young father, Shane Oliver, 20, was killed in the fall of 2012 only a few miles from where his daughter was shot.'

I cannot even fathom losing a child to gun violence. But your child, and then your dead child's child a decade later? Just...wow.

I'd be fine with him being burned alive in the town square with his gun shoved right up his [CENSORED] as an example.

I couldn't care less about race btw, the NRA or the God-damned soulless GOP.

Between guns, racism and our dog-crap healthcare system 'murica is turning into a real bunghole of a country in many ways.

Sorta brings the whole "Great Satan" moniker much of the world refers to us as into clearer focus.

The biblical character "Lucifer" wasn't ugly or foul, quite the opposite in fact and "satanism" isn't about sacrificing small animals or random killings. That's just what the church/evangelicals want you to believe.

Rather it's about PUTTING ONESELF FIRST at the expense of everything and everyone else no matter what.

Sound familiar to anyone?

Well, gosh, we just need to put the Ten Commandments back in school, but we also need more guns everywhere... despite one of those commandments having something to say on the subject of killing.
Interesting how the 2nd Amendment is absolutely not open to interpretation, it obviously means all the guns all the time, but apparently there's a lot of wiggle room in the four words "Thou shalt not kill"? I mean, suuuuure, one of these was written by men, and the other is meant to have come directly from God, the creator of all things, but one should carry more weight than the other, I guess, and it's not the God one?

Revisionists claim it's a mistranslation, and only means murder.
