November 17, 2008 new Nvidia Big Bang 2 drivers!

Well looks like on November 17, 2008 new nvidia drivers will be out! Surprise surprise. I was guessing this because nvidia seems to always release new drivers right before a game release and this is the day before Left 4 Dead comes out hehe. I bet it will say these drivers are recommended to use with Left 4 Dead.

Looks like they were released yesterday but not to the general public and only reviewers.

Excited to see if they change much. I highly doubt it. I know they will never magically make Crysis run better on the ice levels.

Hopefully the 55nms launch that day, perhaps as a marketing strategy to steal upgrade dollars from other hardware firm's launches and get into the holiday buying cycle.

Sort of like DX10.1?

There's definitely a dearth of PhysX content, but it's pretty impressive in the games/levels it's in.

Like DX10.1, it's new tech that takes time to code for.

I wouldn't say its completely useless. I'm not really into programming any more, but the guys that work in the same department as i do say it will help a lot.
We do a lot of CFD, and i guess CUDA speeds it up a lot... and they also said something about that DX10.1 cards, and 32-bit precision.

So i guess both are good, but not for people playing games today, because it doesn't really do anything for them.

If these speed boasts without any image quality lost are true when the new drivers get released this will be incredible. I am taking it with a grain of salt though.
