I remember when I moved to Tampa and flew back for X-Mas my first year. It was pretty warm that year, Christmas was 95 F for the high in Tampa. I wore a light outfit but I remember one girl wore a short skirt and completely forgot to bring a jacket. When we landed the pilot announced the temperature was 18 F, we were all kinda stunned. A number of us talked through the flight, we'd all moved down to Tampa as adults but grew up in the Midwest. First thing I did was go down the baggage claim and dig out my heavy coat. After a day +/- I was OK with the temps, I was never really bothered too much by the extremes. I always enjoyed coming up for visits in the Winter with a good suntan while everyone else was pasty white. What I miss about S. Florida the most was the height of Summer cooling off at the beach.
