The Five Year Engagement -- 7/10
Nothing groundbreaking, predictable as per most rom-coms. That being said, I'll watch pretty much anything with Jason Segal, so....yeah. In full disclosure, I missed the first 20-25 minutes, was on HBO or Showtime or something this last weekend. Decent enough.
(TV) Suits -- 9/10
Went back through on-demand last night and found more recent episodes, apparently they split the season like Breaking Bad is doing. 4 episodes were available, 1 should be this week sometime, and the finale airs on Thursday.
Awesome show, well written. Harvey Specter is one of my favorite characters in any TV show in the last 5 years. However, there are three reasons I can't give this show a 10/10:
(1) I can't stand Louis Litt or Daniel Hardman. The actors play their characters so well, and they are written in a way that makes me want to rage to the point of it actually being bothersome.
(2) I didn't really notice this until last night, but Harvey tells Mike that "if you don't get your act together, you're fired" WAY too much. It's getting kinda old. Nobody would get that many second chances. At this point it's an empty threat but they always make it so dramatic.
(3) Noticed this during the early part of season 2, and it is very minor, but apparently they can get away with saying "sh**" on normal cable TV now. The first episode I noticed it, it seemed they were writing / acting it into the show just because they could, not because it really had a place. Again, something minor because I'm an adult, but it's just a little weird that they force it so much.
