Breaking Bad - 10/10 - Holy crap, the dad from Malcom in the Middle is awesome. Holy crap, he is a profoundly good actor. Check out his wikipedia!

Anyway. This show is unreal. I have not been hooked on a show like this since Lost was on TV years ago. I watched the first 4 seasons on Netlfix. The first half of season 5 is "available" and the second half is starting late summer. Season 5 is the last. AWESOME. I don't know where to start. The story arc since the beginning is awesome. The characters are awesome. The writing, great. I literally have nothing bad to say. They even get the science correct enough that it is believable to all but hard core chemists. I have to imagine that they don't actually tell you how to make meth on the show.

Unlike Lost, every season just gets better.

OK, one negative. Even when showing a hardcore meth addict, no meth mouth. I highly suggest you not google meth mouth.

They've broadcast at least one previous season's marathon prior to the premier of each new one.

Deadheads - 3/10: I watched because I was in the mood for a bad B-grade movie. But what I got would have at best made a C- in a freshman film class.

The Telling - 3.5/10: The only reason this one is rated better then DeadHeads is because there are boobs, and what boobs there are are nice, but it takes to long to get to them, and they are not in the show long enough to make it worth watching. Other then that the story is with out any redeeming qualities.

Rust and Bones 6/10: Another frenchy film. Just a standard darker love drama. Nothing special. I couldn't finish it. I skipped to the ending and read the plot just to see what happened.

I don't get your grading scale. How could a movie be so crappy you couldn't finish it, yet still get a grade over 5? Shouldn't it be like a 3 or lower?

See it. Sam Rockwell is epic in this, and the music, direction, the overall forboding vibe, it's all top notch stuff.

That movie was great. Clint Mansell did the score. He's always great at what he does.

Yeah me too, very confusing. I saw Rust and Bone last year and thought it was ok, but I finished it and I rated it appropriately.

Cherry 2000 - 8/10

Cheesy 80s goodness, with Melanie Griffith as quite the babe. I've been wanting to see it again since the where are they now thread, where nobody guessed Cherry. It's on Netflix, now, and the transfer is really good (lots of less popular cult movies don't get so lucky).

A business man has become romantically attached to his wife robot (a Cherry 2000 model), but she shorts out and fries. After being turned off by the club/dating scene, which now includes contracts being written up for dates (a dystopian setting, with dehumanization coming primarily in the form of industry and legalese), he starts on a quest to hire someone to find the same model, in some kind of semi-post-apocalyptic wasteland.

Well I made out pretty good last week. Rented Not Fade Away and Ben-Hur (remake) and enjoyed both.

The Croods
Two reviews.

1) My 6 year old daughter liked it. So atleast a 7/10 to her.
2) Adult perspective. It was crap. 3/10. it was a mindless romp from point A to point B that was forced upon a group of people by events out of their control. Basically, uncontrollable event A happens, look at the environment in area 1. Event B happens in area 1 and forced to area 2. Repeat ... 3/10 because I did laugh a few times and it kept my daughter entertained. No adult should see this. It is crap. Maybe a date movie for highschoolers ... at best.

devil's rejects - 10/10 - have seen it before but hadn't seen it in a while and picked it up on bluray from gohastings couple weeks back for $4. such a badass movie but it's so messed up. the movie is just done so well though. i love the music in it as well. great flick.
