from the very beginning, when they are in space talking to houston, and all sounds from houston come from the l/r speakers, it feels as though you are hearing it in your headseats with the rest of the astronauts.
there was 1 part in the movie that i started to face palm, because i thought it was 100% bs, and i even told my wife how disappointed i was with that shit happening, but then about 2 minutes later all was good and i felt relieved. if you've seen the movie i'm pretty sure you know what part i'm talking about.
Jobs - 4/10
Not a terrible movie but the fact that they had so much to work with to only come up with a rather bland movie let me down. The movie continues to try some sort of "artsy" direction that did not work while leaving out HUGE parts in Steve Job's past. The fact that I kept thinking how much better the 1997 made for TV movie "Pirates of Silicon Valley" was should be a clue.
Wouldn't it make more sense to hear it out of your Surround Left/Right since those should be directly pointed at you?
I'm guessing that you're talking about when?Kowalski "comes back"
i meant the l/r surrounds lol my bad, so yeah you are right. and yes you are right about the spoiler part too.
Just watch it, you might be surprised.
i avoid any movies with SNL actors.
That's a shame, there are some very good movies with SNL stars in them, Dan Aykroyd, Eddie Murphy, Bill Murray, Chevy Chase, Chris Farley, Mike Myers, Will Farrell, the list goes on. People forget how many famous comedians got their starting fame from SNL.
Netflix?The Man from Earth: 9/10
The movie is about a man who is 14,000 years old.
Without giving anything away the movie just needs to be watched.
I'd almost give it a 10/10. Basically what makes this movie a 9 for me is that every loop hole I tried to poke in the plot would be resolved almost immediately after I thought it which really entertained me. They seemed to think of everything to make this movie work.
Has a good cast and a good ending. The whole movie takes place in one room. The movie just works.
It's not the actors, it's the characters. This has been proven time and time again. SNL characters equal crappy movies. It's why Mike Meyers walked off the set and quit a particularly bad one that would have ruined his career and reputation.i avoid any movies with SNL actors.
The bad SNL movies were any that had SNL characters after Wayne' World.
I find this a bit bizarre. I liked the concept, but the acting was so atrocious, it barely gets over a 5. And with things like one guy grabbing the other in a bear hug and getting flipped out as "proof" that the guy must have had 100s, if not thousands of years of fighting training/experience to break that move was so hilariously groan-worthy, I'd add a point back to give it a 6/10.The Man from Earth: 9/10

That's pretty much what happens when you take a character designed around a short shtick and try to expand it out to a 1.5-2 hour movie! But you've got me curious... what movie did Mike Meyers quit that would have been that bad? He did make this movie after all....
It wasn't an Austin Powers sequel. It was another SNL movie.I remember him halting production of one of the Austin Powers sequels. He claimed it was because he was concerned about the quality of the script/screenplay, but it was more-likely a play to get more $$$.
He was playing Dieter from SNL. I can't recall what those skits were about but the fallout from him backing out of the contract is what led to him making "The Cat in the Hat." This was all 14 years ago, before "Ladies Man" and other crap SNL movies continued the curse. That's pretty much what happens when you take a character designed around a short shtick and try to expand it out to a 1.5-2 hour movie! He made a Sprockets movie? I don't recall that one. :hmm:
KT
That's just it: he walked off the set and refused to do it. It was going to be another bad movie in a string of bad SNL movies (Superstar, Night at the Roxbury, The Ladies Man, etc) and he knew it. To make up for contractual obligations, he made TCitH instead.
