"We'll be in here, eating sugary cereal and playing with my service weapon."

I'm definitely enjoying season 2 over season 1, and that says a lot. I loved season 1.

san andreas - 8/10 - solid disaster flick. acting was kind of iffy but it was just a fun movie. holy crap the sound in this movie was incredible. also liked the style/effects they had in this movie in general. loved how the daughter was slowly losing her clothes as the movie went on and by the end, she's in a tank top and wet. god damn those tits...

There were a couple scenes where she just started running with the camera focused directly on her. I ain't a religious guy, but I'm pretty sure that might just be proof of some divine being at work....

There was one thing that bugged me about the end...
wouldn't she have suffered from some brain damage due to lax of oxygen since she wasn't breathing for minutes at the end? Maybe this was just supposed to be one of those cases where we're dealing with "movie minutes" (1 minute in a movie = some smaller amount of time).

Entourage (2015) -- 7/10
If you liked the series, you'll like the movie. It's just more of the same, which I don't think is a bad thing. Had a couple really funny moments, mainly Ari (duh), but the Turtle / Ronda Rousey thing had some humor too. It's Entourage, just in movie form this time. /shrug

Under the Skin -- WTF/10
Turned it off after 20 minutes or so. By far the weirdest movie I've ever started/seen. I figure 20 minutes was fair, and it did absolutely nothing for me.

I've decided to keep rewatching the movie until I can binge the first two seasons as season 3 starts.

i bought the bluray after the first season ended because my wife had never seen the movie but loved the show.

after not seeing the movie in probably over a decade, i don't think it aged very well and i didn't enjoy it nearly as much as i enjoyed it back in the day. i think the show is actually better than the movie.

I've rewatched it at least once a year since it came out on Blu-Ray and I enjoy it more and more each time. What clicks for me is just how much the viewer can feel how uncomfortable the characters are.

Did you catch the reference in The Venture Brothers? "Mike" Sorayama is obsessed with Leslie "Cohen" to the point that she has a restraining order on him. It's the same voice actor that played "Mike" in Fargo.

Hell on Wheels - Netflix 8/10

Maybe I'm just a sucker for westerns, but I'm liking this show more and more with each episode. I'm midway through the 1st season, and if the quality holds up over the long run, this show will probably be in my top 5 TV shows of all time list.

It is quite a good show. I actually think I didn't catch the final episode of the first half of this season (fifth and final one).

terminator genesys - 3/10 - holy shit this movie was so bad. the first 1/2 was actually pretty good, but as soon as
john conner became some stupid fucking hybrid
it went to total shit. it just kept getting dumber and dumber too. i'd give the first 1/2 of the movie an 8/10 but it just got so fucking stupid. it is like a god damn avengers movie and shit.

Oh, like Man of Steel. I saw it in theaters with my brother in law. About half way through I turned to him and said "I don't understand the reviews. This movie is incredible. This is an 11/10". My timing could not have been worse. Literally, the second I said that everything fell apart. The remainder of that movie was horrendous. Act two was a 2/10.

Terminator Genisys had it's own problems. Mostly, breaking canon. But worse ... trying to explain it. They tried to make up a bunch of technical mumbo jumbo to explain how the past can change and there would be an alternative timeline. That's all that was needed but the writers couldn't just say it once and shut up. We get it. It's time travel. There are paradoxes. Move on. The hybrid issue pissed me off but not badly. It is an alternative timeline. This movie is not a reboot. it's a continuation of the story.

Robot Invasion - 5/10 - A surprisingly not bad robot invasion movie on Netflix. I think it is a British movie so you get some original thought in the story which is a change of pace. There was even an homage to Terminator that most will miss. Act 1 is better than act 2 but it was definitely OK and worth watching if you have Netflix.

Finally got around to seeing American Sniper. Thought it was trash. 2/10

Ya, take away the "true story" moniker and it is shit. It's mostly good because you can't believe it is a true story.

here's the story.
Sniper did more tours than normal. Was a navy Seal I think. If not a Seal, he was trained more than normal. Was very good at his job. Came home with mental problems that he seemed to work through. And was killed by a vet with mental problems that he was trying to help. The day before being killed he told his friend that was with him to watch his back because this guy is seriously messed up.

lol yeah i agree with your assessment 100%. initially i was like 'wtf is this just a remake of the first one?!?' but that quickly changed. and i also literally said the exact thing you did to my wife. about an hour in we paused to make a drink upstairs and were both like 'this is actually pretty good', then we go downstairs, and "that part" came up.

actually i went from a COMPLETE high, to a COMPLETE low when
"pops" came out and shot john conner, and initially i thought his whole mission the entire time was to wait it out and kill john conner, and i thought that was pretty fucking awesome.

then i immediately thought about how dumb that was because he could have killed sarah and he never would have been born anyways, so that was dumb as shit.

then like 2 seconds later you see john conner get up and realize that it's a terminator, then i thought how fucking awesome it was that arnold just saved their lives like that. was so pumped.

then 5 seconds later you find out that john conner, the defender of the human race in the past 4 fucking movies, decided to become a hybrid terminator and was now on some power trip to become all powerful. they completely ruined what his character was about THE PREVIOUS FUCKING 4 MOVIES.

god damn fuck that movie. so terrible. oh and another thing...

i also thought the dialog between sarah and reese was so dumb, like she was a complete asshole to him for no reason and it felt like 2 highschool kids bickering. but then they did explain that she didn't want anyone to get close to her because they always die, and she knew he died, so she was trying to push him away. so i was okay with the dumb dialog after that part. but the 2nd half of the movie couldnt save it, so bad.

Ever take off all your clothes and run backwards through a corn field? Half Baked - 8/10 - for some reason it was better in college. It was an 11/10 back then. Still funny and on Netflix.

A new series just started on Esquire called Spotless. It's about a crime scene cleaner and how he ends up working for the criminal elements of London. At least that's what I can tell from the first episode. It looks quite good. I was going to start a thread for it but I don't know how many people get that channel or if there would be any interest in something like this.

Thanks just added the first two episodes to my Tivo Roamio. Actually I had to lookup what channel Esquire is, never heard of it.

it was good enough to make a sequel, which sucked
