I really need to watch True Detective. I loved Sin Nombre and Jane Eyre from Fukunaga and I hear the show is at least visually similar.

Which reminds me:
San Andreas - 1/10 for the movie, 10/10 for the casting on Rock's daughter/wife.
Evidently she played some chick on True Detective too, so we're talking about the same girl. Now I MUST go watch True Detective.
yeah...that's a rather famous episode. Even those that hate the show praise this scene....
season 1 was so terrible there was not a chance in hell i would have seen season 2.

Cool. Will do! Netflix?

I like a lot of different types of shows. Not a huge space sci-fi or super hero fan.
Things I currently watch on broadcast TV:
Simpsons, Family Guy, Last Man on Earth, The Blacklist, Colony, Limitless, Second Chance, Shades of Blue.
On SHO: Homeland (on season 2)
I wonder if this movie will ever come to Netflix?
Does it have an IMDB page?
Does it have a trailer?
I'll try to find out...
[edit]
I guess the video on the Kickstarter page might qualify as a trailer.
You've lost it. Season 1 of True Detective is one of the best things since I don't know when. Their performances are some of the best I have every seen.

After the Coen Bros won Best Picture the previous year all the A-listers wanted to be a part of it and they kinda ruined it. They were all trying too hard to play non-typical roles for them. I was entertained but it would have been so much better without them all pathetically vying to break molds with legendary directors.Burn after reading 6/10 - This has a truly all-star cast - Pitt, Clooney, Malkovich, etc. But it was kind of a stupid movie. None of those guys really do comedy very well. But it had it's moments. There's one scene in particular with Brad Pitt that was kind of a shocker and it's almost worth watching the movie for that.
gone girl 9/10 - everyone here has raved about this and I thought it was very good. I never like Affleck so I avoided watching this but he was very believable. Rosamund Pike was really superb. It reminded me a lot of the tv series Secrets and Lies but that was probably influenced by the movie.

The Seven Five - 8/10 - This is documentary with a lot of interview footage about police corruption in the late 80's and early 90's. I thought some of the "revelations" were really mindblowing, but if you don't have a lot of patience for interviews/narrative, stay away.
In rough order of priority/preference:
Breaking Bad
Mad Men
The Wire
Fargo (both seasons)
True Detective (season 1 only)
Homeland (though only season 1 is a priority)
Friday Night Lights
House of Cards
The Fall
Luther
I don't particularly like Aaron Sorkin, but many people like The Oval Office and The Newsroom.
nope. let me know if you want my hbogo info
I wouldn't recommend binging through Mad Men just fyi.
Mad Men is the least binge-able show I've ever seen. Yet somehow my wife manages to do it. She watched a full 1.5 seasons the first DAY we started it. I gave up after 2 episodes that day. 2-3 episodes a WEEK is about all I can manage.
Fantastic show, but I have no idea how anyone could binge it.
Thanks bro, I'll let you know. Does not seem like your kind of flick, though I've been meaning to watch it for a while now.
