i really was excited to watch this the trailers looked great almost ID4, but man i wanted to slit my wrist by the end. movie turned into a CW tween movie.
Haha, same here. When I first saw the trailer I thought "Wow this is my type of stuff! Looks decent." I started watching it and got maybe half way through but have never picked it back up again.

The Revenant - I liked it much more than I thought I would / 10 - Cowboys and Indians isn't one of my favorite genres. Not something I think I'd watch again. Visually it is nice, but..it's the same thing for 2 1/2 hours. That being said, it didn't feel that long.

I felt a lot of details get lost in the first viewing.

yeah i caught a lot more. one complaint i heard about the movie was ...

that people were annoyed with how you just heard him breathing the whole movie. it didn't bother me at all. but in the 2nd viewing, within the first 2 minutes of the movie when they are showing what happened with his son, he says something along the lines of 'just keep breathing if you are able to and you will keep living'. after hearing that, it clicked as to why they kept on focusing on his breathing throughout the later parts of the movie.

as mentioned, that didn't bother me at all but the 2nd time around, it made a lot more sense. also taking in the camera work and cinematography a second time was just awesome.

Sisters -- 7/10
Stupid movie, but it was quite entertaining and that's what movies are all about.

2/10. The mindless back and forth banter that has found its way into comedies is mind numbing stupid. It's like the actors are just spewing the lines to get it over with.

last time i take a recommendation from my friends, srs

London Has Fallen - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3300542/reference

garbage.

gerald butler is the shooty guy, says mr president a lot. epic win music constantly playing regardless of the scene. the mood is constant america fuck yeah.

there's a ton of mediocre US-secret-service films better than this, it's just so horribly recycled trite of obviousness that you can't help thinking "oh not this again" and terrorists on top.

5.5/10 i'm pretty sure there's some Steven Seagal films that are better than this.

Deadpool 6/10 - The first 30-40 minutes was really really good stuff, probably a 9 for those minutes. But then it got old and the script writers couldn't keep it up. I was ready for a nap toward the end.

I agree with this mostly. I thought the ending was kinda boring. So maybe the last 220 minutes. Otherwise, it was solid.

Me too! Thought it was very slight. Move along , not much to see here. Opening credits told the whole story.

We saw Captain America Civil War last night. We all enjoyed it, wife was pretty lost though. I was confused about some of it because I don't know all the history. Still we enjoyed it. My wife was on Ironman's side... I was on Captain American's side. Setup for another though, so it seems to all be good. I'd give it a 8/10.

Making a Murderer -- 8/10
Finally got through this over the weekend ... and by that, I mean we'd watched the first episode a while back, and binged the other 9 episodes this weekend in place of being productive.

According to Wikipedia the family was approached by filmmakers and not the other way around. That being said, I do think it was rather biased.
There simply HAD to be more damning evidence than what was shown in the series, because if there wasn't, I have no idea how they reached a guilty verdict.

The series really just grabbed our attention and held it, until the last episode or two. Once it got to going through appeals and such, it started to drag a bit. Should have been an 8 episode thing instead of a 10.

Dead Pool - 8/10 We really enjoyed it, and neither of us are big Ryan Reynolds fans except for The Proposal. Or big comic book movie fans except for Captain America.

The Grand Seduction - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2319580/reference

the 2013 version, remake of the 2003 french film of the same title.

i watched it because it's got Brendan Gleeson in it. It's a film very close to The Englishman Who Went Up A Hill and The Full Monty is style, as as both of these films, doesn't have enough plot to go around, i.e. the trailer is better than the film.
Still, well made and well acted, but the writing and direction could use a boost.
6.5/10 i never watched the original, don't know if it's better

Catch Me If You Can - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0264464/reference

Is it a Tom Hanks film, or a Leonardo DiCaprio film?

Watchable but not particularly memorable film; i much enjoyed the Tom Hanks bits and not so much the Leo bits, and the story itself leaves to be desired. I know it's the 'true story" of Frank Abagnale, but they could have spiced it up a bit for storytelling purposes.

6.5/10 the best thing is the retro look.

Chef - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2883512/reference

could not bring myself to watch the whole thing, i started skipping about 1/3 through. Very bland characters and i just didn't feel the drama. The comedy bits were not funny.
