Anchorman was the same for me

Anchorman was the same for me
Deadpool 7/10
So many people said it was really good and the best comic book movie well they got my hopes up and it's not bad at all but it's not great. For me, they did too many jokes, tried too hard for me. It was stoll enjoyable though.

the film costs $160M?!
and it needs to earn at least $450 million to break-even
i'm not really sure where this math comes from; if it cost 160m to make, it takes 160m to break even - maybe a bit more if you factor in the possible interest that money might have accrued during the filming period.
i would get ahead and remind everyone that taxes are paid on earnings, after expenses are deducted.

Do you think they make 100% of ticket sales?

For the first couple of months, the studio gets almost all of the revenue. It's only after a movie has been out for a while that the theaters make any money but by then ticket sales tend to be much thinner.That's..... a great point that for whatever reason I have never thought of What percentage of ticket sales do movies typically get?

The problem is that less people are going to the movies now than back in the 50's and 60's when 4/5 of the nation would go to a movie on a weekly basis. Now about 10% go. Like someone posted earlier, the US sales make the bulk of the studios revenue and less than 20% of sales over seas make it back to the studio. Also out of the major releases last year, about 135 movies, only 30 were released in China. One big budget flop wipes out the profits of the blockbusters. This is including ticket and DVD sales.
Finding Dory - 6/10
It was ok but was not as great as it should of been. Pixar has been slowly going down in quality of their movies. The last dinosaur, last year also fell flat for me. I think the movie was over hyped and rided on a two trick pony. If you see the movie you will understand why. Then animals in the movies were totally unbelievable. With out giving away too much there was another theme around the animals that I did not buy into. Sorry I just ruined the movie for you.
