I gotta put a hold on all 3 shows right now. Need to upgrade my computers, figure to go to Win10 while still free (i.e. before July 30).Boo, finish those shows first.

I didn't think the acting was any worse than any other typical TV series I've seen, though I've only watched the first episode and I wasn't paying strict attention to it. We'll see, though.
I like Pandorum a lot. And yeah Ben Foster is on my man crush list. :awe:
i'm watching The Graduate. This guy is 30yo, looks 40, and they're trying to pass him off for 20yo, and an immature 20yo at that.
While i might enjoy the timewarp back to big clunky plastic phones and smoking on airplanes, i can't help but focus on how horribly miscast Dustin Hoffman is in this film; the relationship between young and inexperienced guy and strong willed but unstable emotional cougar just does not work. Can't believe this is the film that launched his career.
Wound up watching this today for the first time because D.H. was also in Outbreak, which i saw yesterday. Cheesy film but imho he's actually better in that one rather than this.
is there a way to see only my own posts from only this thread? i think it's time i did a "one year in film", and review the best films of last year.
i use this thread often to go back to older pages, and find films i didn't catch; i figured making a list of my own films could be useful.
This is raunchy American Pie-esque sex comedy done Korean style...in period setting! Byun is the village idiot and women constantly ridicule him for his impotence.
That is until one day a monk teaches him the power of never-ending erection! When all the men are sent off to war, Byun is the lone male left to satisfy the unyielding libido of the village harlots.
top of the page, "search this thread" button and go to advanced. it lets you search by user.
I rewatched The Graduate 10 years ago and was turned off by D.H's portrayal of Ben. It worked for me beautifully when it first came out, however. So, I think that time has spoiled it somehow.i'm watching The Graduate. This guy is 30yo, looks 40, and they're trying to pass him off for 20yo, and an immature 20yo at that.

omg.
i watched the "previously on.." section of Suits, first episode of season 6. I had not watched any of season 5 because the show took a bad turn somewhere.
just in the first couple of minutes, i was so shocked i turned it off; when did this nice, uplifting show about a wonder kid became this tragic, cringey drama? And why?
I want to see GeniusKid and SuperLawyer beat up bad guys, not get beaten up themselves.
7/10
The Conjuring
It had some scary moments, but it looks like that these days, horror movies are made for sissies by sissies. A lot of horror movies on netflix should not even be in the horror section. Bunch of Nancies. D:
Where are the days of Hellraiser, Event Horizon, The excorcist. Even Freddy Krueger was way more scary then what is out today. The only decent horror movie that has come out over the years was Mirrors and the Grudge. Oh yeah, Book of blood is also decent.

Stan Lee's Lucky Man 8/10
It's about a detective with a gambling problem who comes to possess a lucky bracelet. But there's actually a whole lot more to the story. This is easily on a par with Dare Devil or Jessica Jones and probably a lot better.
I'm only halfway through but I love it. And James Nesbitt, as always, is spectacular.
It was better than I thought a PG-13 rated horror movie could possibly be.
You were also likely a lot younger when you saw those other movies, that may have something to do with it.
I enjoyed The Conjuring. Not really scary, though it did have that creepy doll which is something that always seems to work on me. :hmm: Mainly I just enjoyed watching Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga.

Where did you find it? I can't find it on Netflix/Prime
