wow. i cannot believe anyone would take that pile of vomit of the prequels over the marvel-superheroes-class action flick that is Ep 7. i cannot for the life of me think of anything worse that the prequels. i would rather watch a marathon of Adam Sandler films than sit through a single prequel film.
instead, i watched
The Whole Truth -
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3503406/reference
the latest Keanu Reeves effort.
although this film isn't anywhere near the bad of Exposed, or Henry's Crime, it's still a pretty mediocre showing from Reeves.
The film is a very pedestrian courtroom drama, Reeves is a defense attorney fighting a case of a kid who killed his dad. the vast majority of the film doesn't really deviate from the Perry Mason drama (i.e. nothing much happens aside from the standard case procedures), until the end when there is the obvious plot twist, a plot twist so plot-twisty that it would make M. Night Shamalamadingdong twist in his cinematographical grave.
Apparently, they had msstttrrrr BOND, James Bond (Daniel Craig) lined up for this, but he dropped out a mere 3 days before filming started; and for some reasons they decided to have the part of an aging, stuffy lawyer, being played by an actor whose sole successful films are action-based.
Could it be that Craig's agent read the script, and got him to drop this stinker?
Anyway,
it's not *that* bad. You could delete the twistytwist, and have a no-name play the Reeves part, and you'll get a honest homage to the courtroom serials of the 60s. Which makes for a decent film to have running in the background while you do the dishes.
Also starring (top billed, no less) an old and tired Renee' Zellweger who looks and acts like a mockery of her old self. She ought to be cast in a nice twin-female-lead film together with the recently seen Kim Basinger (The Nice Guys) so we can pretend it's the 90s all over again. Wohoo!! WHO WANTS TO PAR-TEEEHY!
seriously,
