Why do people finish watching really shitty movies? I know for a fact that I've begun watching far more movies in my lifetime than I've finished. If I'm paying $9 or whatever to see a movie in a theater, I'll gut it out, but in this day of Netflix and streaming? No way.

Patriot's Day -- 8/10
I enjoyed it very much. I haven't read the book the movie is based off and basically just know the events from what was aired on the news. Great job by all the actors I thought. I'm assuming that final shootout between Tamerlan and Dzhokhar and the cops was realistic as to how it went down? Seems like it would be considering the lengths Berg went to for accuracy with Lone Survivor.

Banshee -- 7/10
TV series on Cinemax; the first two seasons are available on Amazon Prime Video. It's about an ex-con who falls into the job of a small town sheriff in Amish country PA. Lots of violence, sex, and humor. Some episodes are better than others but I think it's pretty entertaining and enjoy it a lot. It's kinda funny... it reminds me of Strike Back in some ways, one of which is it seems there's a requisite "macho-main-character-fucking-hot-girl" in every episode, ROFL.

Just finished the first season (only season out so far) of Travelers. Not "great", but really really decent. Basic concept:

1. Dystopian future (never shown), due to a variety of natural & man-made problems
2. Tech is invented to send people's consciousnesses back in time to take over a host body that is historically about to die
3. Groups are sent back in teams to prevent certain Bad Things from happening (ex. big bombs & whatnot)

Catch is, once you're set back, you're stuck there. Fun show. Binged it this past week. Anxiously awaiting more eps!

Jessica Jones is pretty bad.
Its a show full of stupid selfish people constantly doing stupid selfish things.

Kinda makes me hope theres no Defender series and Marvel just focuses on Daredevil from now on.

First episode or two were interesting, then lots of boringness, then the last four episodes or so were pretty great. It would have been better as a 4-part miniseries imo.

Oblivion (2013): 9/10

Oblivion was a beautifully-shot movie. It was so pretty that I had to lookup how they did it. Turns out they used projection mapping instead of green screens. They basically stitched 21 projectors together onto a massive 500-foot screen & then filmed the actors, props, and environments in front of it, which gave a more authentic background & also reduced compositing requirements because everything was being reflected onto the actor's eyes & skin, the glass, and so on:

The Mick TV show 9/10 for comedy. It is absolutely hilarious. We were a bit hesitant, based on the people playing and premise. It is comedy gold. The last episode my wife and I were both in tears, literally.

The Ghost and the Darkness - 7/10 - A really entertaining film that is plagued with the usual 90's stylized cliches to set the tone. However, it was still a good watch, and I don't think it deserved any Razzies.
I always do some surface reading after watching historical fiction and learned a gruesome piece of trivia. One part about African lions that fascinates is how deafening their roar is.

The scene where they momentarily trapped the lion in the boxcar accurately retold that one of the Indian workers lost his hearing in one ear from the roar. Geeesh.

Wynonna Earp: After 15 minutes of the first episode, I shut it off. I'd rate those first 15 minutes about 5/10.

Yeah, it's from the producer of Lost Girl and Killjoys, but while neither show is Emmy material, but the acting in Wynonna Earp is noticeably worse. However, it's getting some positive reviews for its first season, so maybe I'll give it another shot if I run out of other stuff to watch.

Samething happened to me last night with some shit movie.

They just need to go to 4 starts instead of using 5. That way if it was just and OK movie, you'd have to choose between OK, yes and OK, no (2 vs 3). Where 1 is sucks and 4 is awesome. 3 would actually have meaning. Then show users what percentage of people gave it 1,2,3 or 4.

Fate of the Furious:

9/10

Honestly, I went in with low expectations & was blown away with how fun it was. I'm only knocking off one point because it was an extremely predictable movie - BUT, it was well-presented (btw, the director, F. Gary Gary, directed the Italian Job), and that made up for the predictability. I would knock another point off for how cheesy the nerd dialogue was with the hacking parts (re: fighting to activate the sub prop), but that's to be expected in this franchise, lol. But it was the most entertaining movie I've seen in like, years. If you like stupid, fun car movies, then you should definitely see this in theaters, preferably in IMAX (well, Fauxmax here). The opening race in Cuba was a ton of fun. Very entertaining show, will definitely be adding this one to my home library!

Enjoyed it. Definitely a 9/10.
Predictable movie involving the Toretto gang saving the world and nice added "family" members. Charlize Theron's character is crazy/psychotic as usual.

Ben Affleck was good in the role. The writing was interesting and skipped many of the expected hitman movie cliches. Slow compared to John Wick or Shoot 'Em Up, but a decent amount of action.
