i would watch Oh Brother every day. Fargo, it's one of those 1-time-only, because it loses the surprise. Kinda like The Usual Suspects, which is amazing the first time through, and kinda lame the second time around.

Oh, sorry to hear that because I didn't care for The Usual Suspects the first and only time I watched it. I had bought the DVD and still have it and I was hoping that one day, when I rewatched it, that I would then see why so many people rave about it. Oh well.

Now, I absolutely disagree (as did Perknose, thank you) with your assessment of Fargo. I've seen it 5 times:

I couldn't understand the plot. Something about elderly white folks putting themselves into the bodies of young blacks who live longer. Eh ? In what zone do whites want to be another colour, for any reason ? And how does the producer sell a plot that shows white (souls) killing blacks (souls) ?

The whole thing appears to me an improbable fantasy basically showing blacks getting the white shaft, again.
IMDB suggests the film has been a huge success financially. I guess racism still sells.

speaking of J&E Cohen, i *tried* to watch Suburbicon, turned out to be completely different than what i expected, felt depressed, watched Murder On The Orient Express instead; was very perplexed. Casting overload, so many famous faces in minor roles, where the actor's acting does not have a chance to impose itself over the actor's public persona. horribly miscast Kenneth Bragan as Poirot, and the same goes for just about everyone else. Did not watch the whole thing.

I gave up on The Punisher. After falling asleep during episode 7 and then 9, I let my wife finish the last 4 episodes without me. It was just a boring show. I felt like half of the damn show was Frank and whatever the other guys name is sitting in his home base bullshitting. And damn the acting is painful in this show too. From the fake Will Smith to the stereotypical PTSD kid it is just god awful. And Jon Berenthal is so one dimensional that it's hard to watch him sometimes.

the politics overwhelms any suspension of disbelief. Humanity should be outraged at the notion of whites killing others so they can live longer. Haven't we reconciled races better than this ? This is a film Joseph Goebbels could have made.
