My wife and I saw Black Panther. We both gave it a 7/10. I think it's a little over hyped, but it was a good movie.

I felt the same, definitely over hyped. I did like it, I'm not in any way saying I didn't like it.

A solid 7/10 for me.

But with reviews saying this is the best Marvel movie and has the best villain, that is not accurate at all to me. I really did like a lot of the African and modern technology imagery melded together and parts of the movie were downright fun.

i agree with Dave^ but also, BR1 is essentially the same type of film as the Hard Boiled Detective films genre, which ran between 1930 all the way to the 70s. It's both a great homage and a unusual reimagining, this coupled with the aforementioned stunning visual effects, acting, story, the Vangelis soundtrack, and the awesome Tears In The Rain monologue, makes BR1 one of the best films ever for cinephiles.

From Double Indemnity to Blade Runner to the Big Lebowski, Film Noir is quite diverse.

I just finished : "the Frankenstein Chronicles" (Netlfix) and it is a fantastic series with great ambiance and suspence and it looks really like the eighteenth century. Great not obviously present special effects. Great acting. 9.9/10.

I had a crush on Portman, probably starting around Garden State time (2004), but I've since moved on to greater beauties (Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Milana Vayntrub). I dunno, she doesn't seem like she looks nearly as good as she used to in the last couple pics I've seen of her (not that she's bad looking by any means though). Although this talk of Black Swan being "essentially porn" is relevant to my interests. I must view this fine movie now.

Black Swan is an ok film, but the interest on the story is much less than the interest that any sane human would have in a lesbian scene between mila kunis and natalie portman.

The producers i'm 100% convinced followed this train of thought:
1. everyone is talking about mila and natalie
2. everyone wants to bang them
3. a lesbo scene will capture the imagination of nearly everyone
4.. lets start with that and write a story around it
5. lets make the story really pretentious so people can go watch it and pretend it's "art".

Normally, with this kind of series i hope to be amazed by the (sometimes over the top) special effects, but here the story and the ambiance is good. And i never had a dull moment, it was really exiting.
I had to force myself to go to bed in time.

Casual Fitz, the originals are classics., I've never seen them but I will some day see them. You might as well check them out.

The Frankenstein Chronicles - episode 1 of 6 - 10/10

Ya, this thing is pretty damn good. Good acting. Good pace. Good story. Promising story arc. After the first episode, 6 total episodes is probably perfect for a season long story arc. The setting is amazing!

I can't think of a single negative aspect to drop it to a 9/10. I mean it was easy to follow so I can't complain about there being to many characters introduced (because there weren't) and there was not a single WTF is going on here moment. And there are no lulls. The story just kept moving forward.

This is probably a required binge watch on the weekend for many. 6 episodes at 48 minutes each = 288 minutes (4 hours 48 minutes).

I have to say, is there some real time image processing going on for Bruce Willis. He does not seem the age in his face over the years while his neck shows.

Typical face lift. If it's hard to tell, he got a good one. A lot of the time the eye lids get screwed up and it's almost comical how fake someone looks (I'm talking about you stallone!)

One of those movies that dragged out WAY to much. That's probably my biggest complaint. 141 friggin minutes. Should have been 90 and I'd have been OK. The last half hour was misery sitting through. I just wanted it to be over.

LOL, maybe the directors cut will remove a bunch of footage that the studio wanted in.
