And finally
3. Escape Plan
Sylvester Stallone and a bad Aaarnold Schwartzenegger star in a fairly entertaining film where Sly is a professional jail tester / escapist who is framed and Schwartzy tags along.
The Man In The Suit from the Person of Interest tv show is the bad guy.

Decently fun at 6.5/10
Do NOT watch Escape Plan 2 that just came out. It's bad ... like REALLY bad. I don't even know why Stallone even agreed to do that movie. It's one of the worst movies I've ever seen probably.

Truth or Dare - -1/10 - Just stick to Final Destination. Even the worst one is way better than this crap.

The Skin of the Wolf on Netflix, 7/10. Movie is completely subtitled, and has very little spoken words. So you don't have to read a lot. Only a few actors in it as well. I enjoyed it still. Slow paced, some scenes hard to watch. Basically a mountain man makes deals with someone who lives in the lower valley for food and supplies. Daughters come into the mix, and daily struggle in harsh conditions. Most people probably won't like it. In a time when movies strive to be bigger, faster, more action packed, it's nice to watch this sort of movie.

A Quiet Place 8/10. I could NOT have watched this in the theater. We both talked too damn much. The sound track was very good, and story of it being about family was also engaging. We paused it and didn't realize it was an hour in. Time flew by for us. Ending was predictable, but enjoyable. Reminded me of Signs, when they finally figured out how to combat them at the end. Again with not much dialog and only a few characters. Again very refreshing.

Power Season 5. Great show So far this season, 7/10. Mostly because I really really hate Tariq. Earlier seasons were better, but it's still good. So much drama, back stabbing, and badassery. Drugs, guns, clubs, good show.

Ant Man and the Wasp: 8/10

The good: A crazy, fun summer action movie with heart.

The bad: Not too much. Some of the humor seemed forced; I wouldn't say most of it did. Also, I can't remember the entire plot, which I take as an indication that the movie was over-stuffed.

The ugly: That mid-credits scene! (I didn't stick around to see if there was a second one.) But that doesn't count in the score.

I may be under-rating this since I wasn't feeling so good after a root canal.
i wont go into my rant again, but how could that mid credits scene not change the score? I know I am in the minority, and everyone else has liked the movie. But that mid credits scene is like having a lead in the superbowl, fumbling the ball on the last play, and having the opposing team return it for a touchdown to win the game. It changes everything.

I thought the same thing about Signs as well but then I started to change my view slightly on it ...
because in Signs the way to combat them was with a resource that covers like 80% of the ground on the planet that the aliens traveled light years to come to and overtake, which is just so stupid when you think about it, but in A Quite Place it was more about what they had been doing the entire time in NOT trying to make any noises is what actually kept the creatures around. I assumed that the whole reason they hunted people and killed them while making noises is because they couldn't take it and it hurt them, not necessarily out of being a monster/mean/etc. It was more for their own survival as well since noise was their achilles in the end.

We also got the couple times during the movie where the deaf girl's hearing aid messed with the creatures but she didn't know why, whereas in Signs you had nothing like that other than the stupid little girl never finishing her cups of water and they just happened to be left around the house everywhere. Damn Mel Gibson must have had 3 cabinets full of glasses that were empty by the end of that movie.

But I do agree, the "moment" when they realize it was very Signs'ish and that was the same thing I thought when getting to the end,

This can't be stated strong enough. Truth or Dare is just flat out a bad movie. Not even in the 'so bad you can make fun of it' and enjoy it that way type of bad. I keep saying this, but somehow against all reason, they managed to take a show about a group of attractive college coeds playing a deadly game of Truth or Dare and make it boring. That is the real horror of this show.

You could toss any random group of teenagers in a room and they would write a better version of this show. It took a committee working together to systematically remove all fun from this movie in the name of not offending anyone and keeping it PG-13. This movie was made like it was designed for daytime TV.

What exactly did you hate about that scene? I don't understand why you felt it changed the whole show, or why you would not like it?

I watched The Forgotten

Scifi/mystery film starring Julianne Moore.

The film starts well enough; a mother loses a child to an accident, and while recovering, she notices details about this child, disappearing. Photos no longer have the kid in it, videos get erased. One day she is told there never was a child.
At first she suspects some weird gaslighting but a yet more sinister truth is to be discovered.

A film *vaguely* reminiscent of Dark City, where Dark City has a big reveal and decent ending, The Forgotten has a lazy reveal and no explanation.

Good acting on Moore's part who is let down by the script and uninspired direction.

5.5/10 there are better films to see in the same vein.

One, I haven't seen the latest Avengers movie. Two, I expect the events of the latest Avengers movie to be undone in fairly short order. So anything related to Infinity War basically doesn't exist for me.

I will probably watch Infinity War eventually, but not until I can see its undoing immediately afterwards.

I have nothing to do so i also watched the weird
The Stone Council https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0447619/

Monica Bewbsucci is a mom who adopts a kid who is obviously the son of the devil or something.

There is no wikipedia page for the film, and i had to watch it in french so im a bit foggy on the details. The story is of Tittucci's son getting abducted by a weird cult, and mom goes to get him back, but in a mom way, rather than in the "fury & anger" you'd expect. Monica Juggucci grunts, moans and cries, and gets all dirty with mud.

The film is weird and while not terrible it wouldnt jump up as my reccomendation.

Funfact: based on a book by Whatshisname Guy, who also wrote the book which was made into the film also starring Monica Rackucci called Brotherhood of the Wolf, which is better in every way, and you should watch that instead/10.

Finally finished Luke Cage 2. Was a little disappointed with the last few episodes. Could see what was coming easily and they didnt let me down. Dragged on like they didnt know how to end it, slow poor dialog, dont like how they left it, dont like how they left Luke. Im OK if they dont make a 3rd season but I think there is more there. Still 7.5/10

Still struggling to get through Jessica Jones 2

I've been waiting to see How It Ends on Netflix after my co-worker first told/showed me about it. Started watching it last night and got about an hour into it so far before I had to go to bed. Pretty decent so far; I'll give a full review after I finish it. In what looks like a similar vein, I also have Here Alone on my list and that looked decent.

Classic Bill Murray and Harold Ramis. Bill was so young in that movie.

Well, IMO, that is part of what makes it so lame. You *know* they are going to reverse it for the big box office franchises.
