King Lear (theatre performance)
Live broadcast theatre performance starring Ian McKellen. Also had Sinéad Cusack (the actress who played the scientist in 'V for Vendetta') and Danny Webb (played Morse in Alien3). Pretty impressive. We wanted to see Ian McKellen perform before he's likely to hang up his hat (or worse), we weren't disappointed.
Solo: A Star Wars Story... 5/10
The casting choices were pretty poor, especially the lead guy... he didn't really seem to be acting like Han, just a generic action star they happened to name Han. Some of the action scenes were cool, but it was a waste of a Solo backstory movie. I didn't like The Last Jedi either, Disney's really fucked up their star wars universe in short order. I thought they started strong enough, but these last couple have been bad.
All of those revival shows that had a laugh track still have one now, right? Will and Grace, Roseanne. The producers have to insist that they play up the nostalgia and make it look and feel almost exactly the same. The worst part of Murphy Brown was the laugh track, do they really think we are all so stupid as to require some kind of laugh-aid to tell us when to laugh? Either that or they are hiding how poor the writing is by trying to make us feel like maybe we ARE stupid because we missed something that should be funny. (Big Bang is the latter)
Anyways, besides that I didn't mind the story but as a Canadian it amused me to see Hilary being a good sport not playing herself while obviously playing herself.
2/10 because 5 points were immediately lost due to the laugh track.

Heat is one of my favorite movies, so I went back and watched Michael Mann's Thief (1981) with James Caan and really like it. Similar movies with similar themes, but Caan does a better job of making me sympathize with his character than De Nero did. Both are great movies, at least a 7/10 for Thief.
Hold the Dark 6/10 on Netflix. Has the lead black guy from Westworld and the blonde vampire from True Blood, among other things. Very slow, and a little weird. Not very entertaining, I watched it because of the famous people and the trailer was intriguing. Not that great, would only watch if bored or a fan of the actors. Not entirely sure what the message was supposed to be in this movie.
I rented Solo online recently and mostly agree. I'd probably give it 7.5/10. I enjoyed it but wasn't blown away or anything. I thought the lead actor did a decent job but I thought Donald Glover (Lando) was the stand-out.Solo: A Star Wars Story... 5/10

Ugh yeah it seemed like it would be a liberal circle-jerk after I saw a video on it from No Bullshit on YouTube. Kinda seems like it was the left's answer to the Rosanne revival. Hahaha and there was a Hilary Clinton cameo too. But Samantha Bee? Oh God what an unfunny far left failure. Whenever I see her name I just think of her trademark pose, bent forward slightly at the waist with feet pointing inwards, bitching about Trump. SHE'S SO WOKE THOUGH.Murphy Brown is back.
And she sucks.
The writing is absolutely horrid. They got old and lost their edge. Its just a liberal circle jerk. Which we already have plenty of and much funnier, like Samantha Bee.
How is that Warcraft movie? I just saw that my DVR recorded it.
I know its been the subject of many geek fights. Would a person who's only exposure to the WC universe is playing WoW for a bit many years ago enjoy it at all?

It was so bad Scorsese decided to make a copy of it for the Western audience
Doesnt even have Conan The Barbarian.
You can live your life without having seen Amarcord, but can you live your life without having known the riddle of steel??
