Haha, yeah I'm quite aware of how dumb people are. It's just such an outrageous thing that it's hard to believe that many people seriously believe in it. I honestly think a lot of the people are trolling or going along with it for fun, but that's just a guess.Have you met people before? People are pretty dumb.
Think of somebody you think has average intelligence. Then realize that HALF the world's population (3.5 billion) are dumber than that person. It's pretty depressing.
As for Rifter's story, it reminds me of friends (not close friends but we used to hang out sometimes years ago) that believe in 9/11 conspiracy theories (and probably about a thousand other ones). They just refuse to take in new information that contradicts their beliefs. And if they somehow do agree to a new piece of information, they'll just say something along the lines of "well, what about this?" and find some new point to disagree with.
It's like they work backward from learning about something, where they set the outcome in stone (9/11 was a conspiracy) and then work backward from there to find things to support that.
I honestly think their brains process information differently than "normal" people. I don't really know why. But that's just my theory.
Ok back to movies. I started Siege of Jadotville a couple days ago and was enjoying it. Had to stop it to go to bed though. I think I got about halfway through it; I'd give it 7.5/10.
