Thanks for that explanation. Truly, I never got it. I have actually bought a number of movies that are solidly in this category and TBH I bought them because of their cult classic rep. I think the majority of those movies are still shrinkwrapped and never seen, or else unwrapped (and never seen!!!). I'm going to copy/paste your explanation in my movies.dbf table, I swear. Fact is, I don't engage in those movie watching sessions. Only time I see a movie in company is when I go out to the movies, and then I'm usually in the company of family, in a theater, no opportunity (well, almost none) to interact with the audience.... at least during the movie, and that's mainly what counts.So-bad-they're-good movies should not be watched like normal movies. It really needs a group of people to talk thought the movie. Point out and laugh at the choices the director and writers made. Question how, and why, they thought that was an appropriate costume. Keep a running count on the amount of completely unnecessary gratuitous nudity they use. Bad movies are more of a social event then a movie watching experience.
Someone write a short or full movie script of this thread. If you had some money you could hire actors to play some of us doing things at a keyboard and stuff. With the movies playing in the background, but there would be royalty issues with that.
hahaAt first I thought this was a dumb idea, but after thinking about it more I realize it's a really dumb idea.

Oz - The Great and Powerful (2013)
Probably a good kids' movie. IMO had this movie been in the hands of an interesting director and without any Disney-esque shackles then it might have turned out to be more interesting (from a "I want to see movies that do interesting artistic things" perspective).
My wife loved it, I thought it was ok, maybe 7/10. Lady Gaga was great. Bradley Cooper is one of my favorite actors too, but I didn't think he excelled in this. And yea, I dont really know what all the fuss is about his singing. I know he worked hard to make it decent, but it was nothing special.A Star is Born - 5/10 - probably the most overrated movie I've seen in the past decade. There is absolutely nothing special about this movie other than the fact Lady Gaga could act a lot better than I expected. The movie was all over the place though and made no sense in multiple parts about how they knew how to sing the same songs together. If you've seen it you know what I mean. It's about 45 minutes too long too, it should have been like 90 minutes and the last 15 minutes was a waste of time. Bradley Cooper's character wasn't even that great and his singing was mediocre too.
Yeah Bradley Cooper's character seemed very forced to me. His accent wasn't believable to me and was clearly fake, and all he did was play a drunk. There was just a lot of stuff that was really stupid in the movie too and made no sense. I returned it to Redbox today and it made me think about how stupid the end was and really made no sense at all. Then I mentioned it to my wife when I got home and she agreed. My wife loved it, I thought it was ok, maybe 7/10. Lady Gaga was great.
