I never got into it when it 1st came out. Binged watched all 7.

Michelle Trachtenberg is an annoying ass. A few ideas are pretty dumb, but it's TV. Plenty of LOL moments on dialogue and reactions though. No way in hell am I ever watching it again though. Not touching Angel either. Although, I did like the Grimm series... which I give a 9/10.

I always thought Buffy was kind of meh considering its made by Joss Whedon.
But if you dont compare it to other Joss Whedon shows then its pretty darn good.

Saw "Richard Jewel" on New Year's day. It has come under fire from the Me Too movement for the portrayal of one of the female reporters, but I thought the movie was very good. The actor who does Jewel does a fantastic job, and Sam Rockwell is good as always. I would give it 8.5/10.

I'd love to see Vince Gilligan (Breaking Bad) team up with Christopher Nolan (Dark Knight, Interstellar, Memento) to make Dune...something epic & deeply personal but also relatable. Then combine that with the VFX & cinematography team from The Mandalorian to bring it to life! Dune is one of my all-time favorite books...there's just been so much struggle with bringing it to the screen over the years.

Thank goodness they are doing two parts.

I thought the original was great up until a certain death, at which point the rest of the plot was truncated into 1 hour which cheapened the whole scale of it.

Hopefully they get the pacing right here.

As for greatest scfi horror...Event Horizon would probably be close to the top.

Season 2 is still very good....it's just not as good as S1, and it sorta goes in a different, strange...um, "Lynchian" direction. I like it quite a bit, but it's definitely the weakest season.

S3 is indeed, quite great. It was a year before I eventually got around to watching it. Mahershela Ali [sic.] is amazing.

I just found it very convoluted, VV and nearly every one else had some cringe worthy dialogue.

I watched it on a weekly basis, so perhaps if I binged it I could have followed it better.

Also watched "Marriage Story", Netflix movie about a divorce that is getting a lot of buzz. Didn't like it at all. I know a lot of people will be shocked, but I dont care for Scarlett Johanson as an actress (yes she *does* have a nice body, but just seems cold and distant to me) or Adam Driver. Problem was, I could not identify or feel much sympathy for either of the characters. They both were basically self-absorbed jerks who cared more about their careers than their marriage or child. I would rate it 4/10, although the critics seem to love it.

The Thing equals it in the SF monster movie league table. It also bears rewatching more than Alien, because the sheer grossness of the visual effects survives repitition better than the shock and jump-scare of Alien. Also, I reckon "You've gotta be f****ing kidding" is up there with "game over man" in terms of memorable lines.

Yeah, it wasn't very good. Even the 2nd one felt a little fresh, but 3 didn't really have anything of its own to keep the series interesting beyond "lots of bullets and stuff."

A film which has both, whatssisname, Christian Bale, and a nearly-nude Amy Adams, so you'd think this would be a 10/10 from me, but i couldn't really get into it. I'm not a fan of "bad" characters (characters that you are supposed to not-like) ... or maybe i am, idk, but something here didnt have my interest. Bale and Bradley Cooper style of acting grated against each other, and, idk, maybe i was tired, but i shut it off pretty quickly.
I didnt delete it so i may give it another go later.

it's part of a trilogy:

Filmed and set at nine-year intervals, each film takes place over the course of a few hours.
Each character ages 9 years each time like it was in real time.
so in the last of the trilogy, it's 18yrs since they first met in their movie world.
(I haven't watched parts 2 and 3 yet)

Heard it is very good.

I started watching it and it was definitely well made.

I can't say I'm a fan of the whole Internet mob justice thing. Just as I had guess, they fucked with an innocent person and he committed suicide. I guess it can't be proved their actions caused his suicide, but it seems like too much of a coincidence. Yeah tracking down an animal abuser and murderer is good, but I just don't like regular people doing it. A bunch of clueless Internet denizens don't belong doing what law enforcement should do, in general, IMO.
