Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse : 8/10

I'm really sorry that I didn't see this in the theater. Sadly I watched it on FX, and it seemed like it had a ton of commercials, which kept taking me out of the zone. Yes it is a cartoon, but the storyline was good, and I really liked the cast. If you like the web slinger, see this!

Boss Level is on Hulu now. It's an "interesting" action film... like Crank meets Groundhog Day.

It's better than a lot of junk that's showed up on Netflix recently. I'll give it a 7.5 out of 10.

I see Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd in the cast list, so it has potential. Then again, the "girl power" Ghostbusters had potential as well, and they screwed that one up.

Found this surprisingly enjoyable. Recommended.

I also watched Raya last night with my roommate since she watches anything Disney. It was fine. Beautiful animation.

Personally, I avoided the original Ghostbusters for decades and when I did see it it felt like a waste of time. Why would I be interested in a retread?

I've always found the rating system to be a bit pointless. What would I rate this relative to? Who here knows my taste in films/series well enough to know whether film X is really worth 10 out of 10 because what if I also think 'The Matrix Revolutions' or 'Terminator 3' are also worth 10? Even if I limit it to adult-oriented animated comedy series (as opposed to say IMDB that ends up comparing 'The Godfather' to 'The Secret of NIMH' with a single 'out of 10' rating system), off the top of my head say Rick and Morty, then I need to ask which do I enjoy more. R&M used to wear on me at times because the two characters kind of hate each other's guts, but I certainly enjoyed it generally. The humour in R&M is more original as well.

I could have been more descriptive in my review though. I liked that it went in a direction I haven't seen before with Harley Quinn's character, and it was generally amusing.

e.g. Kagemusha is a well made and well acted film, it is also excessively long and commands a direct interest in japanese medieval history. I wouldn't recommend it to my mom.

You should consider adopting my rating systems. Notice how i tend to rate most films between 6 and 7 ? Because most films are just decent films, that's it. I may even like some more than others (see Mr Right, or the recent Boss Level), but in the end there's nothing exceptional about them.

Life of Pi - 7/10

Act 1 is a 10/10, and once the film moves to the boat it begins its descent into how much CGI and fake cinematography can we pack up in this bitch with not much in the movement of the plot or character development. The film then becomes a 5/10 and well it averages to 7!

Plot holes, or an assuming lazy audience by the Director on this whimsical tale who they just expected to enjoy the CGI. With all that murderous murdering that boat sure cleaned up nicely.

Oh wow you are like my brother! You rate a film based on how you feel about it! As time goes by people get used to you, and learn to know how you rate things. Could you at least do a thumbs up or thumbs down in the future? It worked for Siskel & Ebert...

Whats really sad is Eddie Murphy just made Dolemite last year and it was friggen awesome. Mostly because he didnt shy away from the crude nasty humor that made him so successful to begin with.

Woah - only 6.5? Damn you're a hard critic. JoJo is one of the funniest and most heartfelt movies I've seen in a LONG time. It's pretty much my favorite movie of the past decade+ I find zero fault with that movie.

Close Encounters of the Third Kind: 9/10 Date, 1980

A classic that has held up well. Not to heavy on the action, but has a solid story. I doubt that they could get away with a movie like this today. Still a great movie though.
