Mr. Robot - 10/10

Easily the best show on TV right now. The writing is incredibly tight and rewards repeated viewings. Acting, directing, music, and cinematography is amazing. Every episode is like a Kubrick movie. And on top of all that the show is a total mindf***. If they can keep up the pace of the first season (already renewed for S2) this will be in the Breaking Bad tier of all time greats.

Hadnt heard of this one. Watched trailer and i'm intrigued for sure.

Re-watched Jaws in remastered BluRay form. 10/10, best remastering of a movie I have ever seen.

Many scenes I remember being blurry or grainy now have new life in them. The opening sunset with the first victims...looks absolutely gorgeous now. The movie retains all of it's great moments...the score still sounds amazing (I love the "Shark Cage Fugue".) The scene with Ben Gardner's boat still gives me a jump, even though I know it's there. I love the acting in this movie, Shaw is an absolute joy to watch.

As for the transfer...I've seen a bunch of transfers now. Some make me go "huh, looks clearer" - NONE of them make me go "wow, I can't go back!"...none except Jaws. The clarity, the blacks, the lack of spots on some frames....I can sit down and enjoy Jaws without really thinking about image quality anymore.

I have to agree, that Jaws remaster is stunning

watch the Laurence of Arabia remaster if you haven't, its on the same level as the Jaws one

The withdrawal episode kinda lost me. It was WAYYYYYYYYYYY too random. I haven't been keeping up since. I'll probably get around to it, but up until that point I was right on top of it. Then it tried getting too cute with twists and turns and randomness and I kinda stopped caring.

Not BB tier good for me, but pretty damn good and one of the best and most distinctive and original shows on TV at present.

Regarding Blade 4. I saw this at Target as a box set. I can not find it via Google. And Blade 4 seems to not exist. But the box said blade 4?

Oh, crap... Found it:
What Target had:
http://www.amazon.com/Film-Favorites-Collection-Trinity-Chthon/dp/B002GSXKNI

Just the movie itself:
http://www.amazon.com/Blade-House-Chthon-Kirk-Jones/dp/B000RO6KAS

NHow can someone explain to me why WIkipeida has no mention of this movie existing and why is Wesley Snips recently talking about making Blade 4?

If you read the text in your Amazon link, it's a "movie" cut from the failed TV series. No Snipes, and not a real movie.

"Blade: House of Chthon is the ghoulishly scary, feature-length premiere of cable channel Spike TV’s Blade: The Series. Based on the vampire-slaying, Marvel Comics hero originally played by Wesley Snipes in a theatrical film trilogy. Blade the Series stars Kirk "Sticky Fingaz" Jones as the sword-wielding hero who keeps his own bloodsucking tendencies in check through daily injections of a special serum. "

i enjoyed Terminator:Genisys, believe it or not.

sure, there were a couple small things that made me go uuucch during the film. and a couple more after i was done watching it.

but all together a decent film. the ending was weak, i'm not claiming this was a awesome film, but i liked it better than ...

well, let's just leave it as it is. i know the general consensus around here is quite far from my own.

Being a Terminator fan I went to see the movie opening day. Was disappointed. Was shit and now the whole story line is a tangled mess of shit. They screwed my role up too.

This is coming from someone who likes T3 and Salvation.

Wasnt the story line technically messed up in the original Terminator as far as not making any logical sense with time travel?

I had to stop watching after the withdrawal episode because Hulu decided to not carry any more of the episodes...

I will probably catch up some time later, or not, who knows. Honestly, the whole hacker counter culture altruism BS is just a turn off. Let's be real: most of the people capable of doing serious damage that post about it on the internet aren't trying to better the world; they are simply trying to fuck up as much as they can, make some money, or both.

Straight Outta Compton: 8/10 - It is a bit romanticized, but it has it's moments. It probably helps I am a fairly big old school hip hop fan, so seeing the story play out was pretty nice. I would say, if you're not a fan of hip hop and it changed the culture during that time period, you can skip it.

the story isn't supposed to make sense - the film tells you straight away.

"you thought you were travelling in time, but you are in a parallel dimention, and everything is different".

I haven't seen Genesys and don't plan to, but if they are traveling to alternate dimensions, then the entire concept of stopping judgement day seems pointless. As I see it, it will still happen in the dimensions they leave from; although it does solve the causality loop of the previous movies as near as I can tell.

I'm a freak. I enjoyed all 5 of the movies. Granted T2 is on a whole other level. And T1 is a sci-fi classic on it's own. 3-5 are kinda brainless action movies. I accept that and enjoy them. Actually, T5 will probably be my first 4K blu Ray (3d also I hope) disc when it comes out.

mission impossible: rogue nation: 8.5/10

a couple of plot holes which made me deduct 1/2 a point:
1)
they cant get into the underwater server because it detects metal thus no oxygen tanks.
um.. why not a non-metal oxygen tank?!
or heck.. a re-breather. he only needs a couple of minutes of O2 to do the job.

2)
cruise memorized the bank accts thus the bad guys need him alive.
but the head bad guy starts shooting at him.

yeah, the head bad guy is a former agent and probably an expert shot. thus he can shoot cruise's legs to capture him.

the plothole is that cruise is running with a limp from a fall out a window and the head bad guy misses EVERY shot?!

also, what did the girl whisper in cruise's ear before she goes free?

1. blink is the first episode of doctor who i have ever seen, and one of the best by far. wibbly wobbly so.

2. casuality schasuality. in some universe somewhere, skynet has happened regardless. to me, that story is just an excuse for the film.

White queen (2013 series) 5/10

The White Queen is about the War of the Roses in 14th century England.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2372220/

I watched it because the female lead (Rebecca Ferguson) is also the female lead in Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation.

she looks nothing like her char in Rogue Nation.
if I didn't know she was queen Elizabeth, I wouldn't have guessed it was the same person in Rogue Nation.

judge for yourself:
White queen:

Rogue Nation:

I found the White queen boring. even the numerous nude scenes of Rebecca Ferguson couldn't keep me interested.
I couldn't finish episode 2.

Not sure why this surprises me, knowing that Game of Thrones/Somg of Ice and Fire draw inspiration from it.
