Apocalypse: World War II (Netflix) - 8/10

Six part documentary of World War II with mostly color footage, which was nice. I've seen a lot of WWII documentaries and there was plenty of footage here that I hadn't seen before. I don't think it'll be anything particularly revelatory for those familiar with the conflict, at least the general history of it, but it was a nice documentary regardless. Narrated by Martin Sheen.

Oh, and I was impressed by the sound quality. I listen to almost everything through headphones when viewing it on my computer and I thought the sound quality was markedly better than normal, especially the low end.

Did you watch the WWI one also?

Saw the newest Steve Jobs movie in the theater. I kind of expected to be disappointed & I was. The book was much better, the first film with Ashton K was much better. I give this one a five, save your money.

Harbinger Down 6/10
Basically "The Thing" on a boat. Uses practical effects, models, and the great B movie actor Lance Henricksen but the story has been done and much better. Still if you are in the mood for a B horror movie it is ok. Netflix streaming

I haven't had a chance to watch this yet. It is interesting to note that this is a Kickstarter movie using practical effects. I had heard it didn't turn out too good though.

Jurassic World 5.5/10
LOL come on. We have already done regular dinosaurs going on a rampage so in this movie we need a super dinosaur to go on a rampage. Vincent D'Onofrio playing the crazy over the top evil military guy was the best part of the movie. I would have given it 2 bonus points if the two kids had been eaten. Their whole story line was just horrible and frustrating to watch.

san andreas - 8/10 - solid disaster flick. acting was kind of iffy but it was just a fun movie. holy crap the sound in this movie was incredible. also liked the style/effects they had in this movie in general. loved how the daughter was slowly losing her clothes as the movie went on and by the end, she's in a tank top and wet. god damn those tits...

The Glades

I'm going 8.2/10 on it, because a lot of it is a local thing and I'm finding the show amusing myself. It makes me chuckle now and then, which is a rare thing for many shows. It's pretty tongue in cheek, while being entertaining.

Amazon Prime freebie.

About halfway through season 2 atm.

*Edit* After that I'd say it went downhill fast though, Season 3 seemed to jump the shark, and not sure there should have even been a 4.

Agent X premiered last night. I like the concept but it feels really cheesy. It reminds me of Covert Affairs but even less realistic. I was surprised because it has a pretty good cast which includes Sharon Stone and some other recognizable stars.

I recently watched Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles about 3 times on HULU. It is pretty funny. It was good enough to watch 2 more times. It is OK that it is kind of korney and cliche. Go Turtles. 9/10

This weeks episode of Fargo -- 10/10 -- Season 2 has suffered in comparison to Season 1 by trying to outdo it in the quirky and offbeat categories. All too often, they just try too hard. But this one episode is well worth watching for the whole period correct, "Ronnie Reagan gives his famous stump speech on the campaign trail" followed by "Ronnie in the men's room peeing" as he attempts to give empty reassurances about 'Murica to the Nam vet state trooper at the adjacent urinal who has just seen too much.

Brilliant, that was!

If you have access, you can catch this ep, The Gift of the Magi, here or on demand.

This week's was the best of the year no question. But Season 2 has still been outstanding -- way better than most everything on TV (yes, including GoT). Season 1 was just THAT good. Season 2 is still phenomenal.

I pretty much agree. Season 2 has been growing on me, and this last ep, even aside from the brilliant use of RR, was outstanding, especially every single detail and nuance surrounding the hit attempt on THE BUTCHER!

I think overall I like the entire ensemble in Season 2 more than Season 1.
I now Billy Bob was amazing in Season 1, but Milligan? Every single one of the Gerhardts? Joe Bulo? Every time one of them is on the screen it's amazing.

The Curse of Oak Island is back for its third season and it looks really good.

I normally can't tolerate reality programming, but this is actually interesting, especially with some of the off the wall theories that they explore. This last episode they showed what a couple of consultants say is a network of tunnels under the island. I just love this shit.

I agree. I can't officially make that statement as of yet, but there's really nothing about Season 2 that I think could be better so I'm not sure how it could be worse than Season 1. Season 1 had Molly and she was sort of annoying. Milligan is kind of becoming my favorite TV character ever.
