Last Man on the Moon 8/10

Documentary about Gene Cernan and the Apollo program, some amazing video footage. It's just amazing to think what he has accomplished.

Daredevil season 1 - 10/10

Daredevil season 2 (only 3 episodes in so far) - 10/10

i can't believe how good this show is. my coworker has been telling me to watch it since he convinced me to get netflix and watch narcos like 5 months ago, and i kept putting it off because the movie sucked so bad. it is NOTHING like the movie. it's probably the best marvel thing since iron man 1. it is so good with such great character development. definitely recommend.

I didn't make it though the entire movie but it felt like an exact re-enactment of the original.
Back in the day I loved Total Recall (1990). I re-watched it in 2006 and was disappointed. I thought it was kinda tacky in a lot of ways.

Alice in the looking glass

Didn't really have any moments that were cringe inducing painful, but was otherwise pretty bland. Could take it or leave it.

The original is so bad it's good... like many of Arnold's movies. The Running Man is complete shit but because Arnold is in it, it's hilarious and fun.

I saw part of the remake and caught the last half hour, had no interest in watching the rest.

Maze Runners - 8/10

Good action flick and a pretty good story with pretty good sfx/cgi. It was a very linear movie which is something I appreciate. There are a few flashbacks but they allow for key plot points. And they're not distracting.

I'm watching the sequel - Snorch Trails (Scorch Trials) and it's ok so far but doesn't rise to the level of the first movie, not yet anyway.

i too liked The Maze Runner, and hated the sequel.

in an effort to waste time like a pro, i watched :

Approaching The Unknown - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2674430/reference

absolute garbage. or, if you prefer: profound, thoughtful garbage.

4/10

also,

Andron, The Black Labyrinth - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4073890/reference

warning bells went off when i saw that Danny Glover was in it; when i saw that Alec Baldwin was also in it, i should have shut it off. instead i watched nearly the whole thing.

it's the story told a million times before of a bunch of people with no memory of how they got into this labyrinth ...
and teh labyrinth is like a bunch of assorted sets, from schools, to factories, to parking garages.
these is *some* semblance of filmmaking, but it's just the same shit you've seen done better in other films - you'll think Saw, Cube, Maze Runner, and a whole bunch of 80s films, like the ones Steven Seagal is in.

notable for the inclusion of Skin, that singer from that band Skunk Anansie, in a secondary role.

don't waste your time, it's a really bad film.

5/10

after which i HAD to watch something decent so i took my time machine and leaped back to 1984, when Val Kilmer was really somebody, and watched the impeccable

Top Secret - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088286/reference

hot on the trail of Airplane, it's a classic gags comedy .. i mean, seriously, have you never seen this film? because if you haven't, go see it now. i mean, NOW.

8/10 excellent ! (in a Wyld Stallyns voice)

Yeah, I love that movie. The underwater fight scene is brilliant.

I feel the same way and tried to show a coworker about 11 years ago. He HATED it but tolerated it right up until the underwater bar fight and then walked out. Kinda late for a walkout but he complained the whole way up to that point and then said "I can't take anymore."

Talk about having a different sense of humor. He doesn't get that the underlying ridiculousness of it is what makes it funny, not so much the jokes/gags themselves.

and you used to hang out with that guy??

Didn't have much choice on the graveyard shift. We were the same age with similar interest otherwise so I'm confused about our polar-opposite senses of humor. Heck, he's actually an inactive member of this forum.

I tried to explain that it was funny specifically because the fight SHOULD have been over once they fell into the water, just like the informant guy SHOULD have been dead when he was crushed inside of a car and there should not have been a fireplace nearby for the camera to stereotypically pan to during the skydiving passion scene. Didn't matter to him. "Not funny."

I've always said that his crushed car costume with functioning wiper blades and extending antenna would make the best halloween costume ever.

10 Cloverfield Lane - 7.5/10

John Goodman was great - the previews for this movie didn't reveal much and it was surprising what they did with the characters. As for the ending which a lot of people had an issue with... *Spoiler* I loved that it had to do with the monsters again. People were claiming they were just using the name as a marketing gimmick - glad that wasn't true at all. Obviously they chose not to make it the main focus, so to speak, this time.

I'm still not sure why he had to keep her locked into her room past the opening scenes of the movie. And also what was the "HELP" about? I guess Goodman was both crazy (keeping prisoners), and right about alien attacks...

Paradox (2016) on Netflix. 6/10. Time travel movie where people who build the time machine get killed. I figured out the killer really early on in the movie and the twist at the end just fell flat.

after watching 4 more episodes of season 2, my rating has dropped dramatically. season 2 is pretty lame overall now. still have like 6 episodes left so hopefully it gets better.

My wife and I never could really get into S1. I just finally finished it this past weekend, and I don't think I'm going to even bother with S2. It just doesn't do it for us =/

The Revenant 6/10 - Too long and too slow. They could of knocked about an hour of the movie off. Still worth watching. How they made the bear scene seem so realistic is amazing.

12 years a slave 9/10 - Very good film, great acting and a great story. Hard to watch at points because humans can be truly awful to one another.

Iron Giant - 9/10

Good feels throughout although they do try to scare you at various points. It reminded me in some ways of Spirited Away (Hiyao Miyazaki) even though it predates SA. Nothing about the writing or execution but the feel of it. It had that sort of Zen calmness about it.

Watched it based on some recommendations here so ATOT is batting close to a thousand with me.

I'm about the same place you are in the show and completely agree with your assessment. But you should check out Jessica Jones it is just as good, if not a little better, than Dare Devil season 1.

Really is one of the great animated movies out there. My daughter is in love with it, and we went and saw the Special Edition re-release in the theater about a year ago. I had never seen it. It was heart wrenching and, as you stated, just has that "feeling" of calmness and serenity and peacefulness. So very good.

Butterfly Effect - Directors Cut 8/10 - I've never seen the whole movie of this, but I've probably caught the ending of the theatrical version 5 times over the years. I can definitely say the ending of this is much better than the theater version of the film.
