hmm, i must have previously watched snippets of it on TV because i vaguely remember the final scenes.

So, not very impressed. I can see why this film would cater to most audiences, but to me it was a case of too many cooks spoil the broth.
The script isn't amazing, there aren't any memorable scenes, Julia Roberts sticks out like a sore thumb. Can't believe back in the days people were voting her "sexiest woman", but then again, same people who voted Ellen Ripley as sexiest woman alive ...

I think clooney was ok, and nobody was bad. Well, maybe roberts was a bit bad. The direction is meh, the dialogue is meh. The pacing is super-meh, i get it, you have 11 characters, i don't need to see 11 copies of the same "and here is why #4 is important" bit.

i'd give it a 6/10. it's meh.

Life - 7.5/10 - Basically a modern rip-off of the original Alien with a few different twists. It actually has suspense and tension which automatically makes it better than Alien Covenant.

Lego Batman Movie - 6/10 - has it's moments, but takes itself too seriously too often.

I just wished for a more epic finish to Wolverine then what happened in the end of Logan. The big baddie seemed really dumb and not much though out for my tastes.

Logan fighting a faster, younger, more powerful version of himself, yea sorry, done waaaaay too much. Give me some fresh. That alone hurt the movie a lot for me. If they would have done something better in that area, it would have been the best "comic book movie" for me.

Ghost in the Shell - 4/10 - I told myself I wouldn't watch it because I knew it would suck but I gave ended up giving it a chance and suck it did.
Guardians of the Galaxy 2 - 7.5/10 - Not as good as the first but I enjoyed it nonetheless, I don't go to the theater often but they must be improving the 3D because it looked much better.
Blamed! - 7/10 - Netflix is releasing some good quality anime but I had a hard time understanding it.

Spoiler: Ego's story

I didn't like the Ego story, it was ridiculous how he's telling Quill that's been waiting a long time for him but yet the guy is a god who's been alive for millions, if not billions, of years!

The LEGO batman movie - 8.5/10 - plenty of jokes so that big boys can have a laugh too, great movie overall, although I didn't laugh as much as in the first movie.

Logan - 6.5/10 - ok movie but nothing I will remember long-term, also very background-heavy, a bit predictable.

Come to the light, NN. You can do it. Growth is a life-long process. Make a break from all those joys of your youth like Boone's Farm "wine" and excessive masturbation to stolen stills of Sarah Michelle Gellar. Face it, she was never that hot and she really can't act. It was all about the boobies.

Moving on, here's an instructive hint for you: Basing a movie on a comic book (sorry, graphic novel, the new buzzword for replacing pages of, you know, communicative words with, ummmm, pictures -- lots and lots of pictures) is akin to beginning a gourmet recipe by topping mystery meat hot dogs with cool whip and a huge dollop of marmite.

I had marmite once and i thought it tasted .. well, like yeast. I thought why the f* would anyone eat this.

Then i saw it in the supermarket a few weeks ago and i gave it another try, and i loved it.

When its late at night and you dont want to eat a full meal, but you need something that will nuke your taste buds, for good or bad, marmite is the stuff.

Make some toast, spread a little over it ... flavour bomb!

Master Of None - Netflix - A nice comedy on Ntflix with Aziz Ansari - I have to say that it is well worth checking out. I've been binge watching it. 8/10 because not all episodes are full of laughs. But the good episodes are pretty damned good.

Sully (Tom Hanks, Clint Eastwood directing -- 2016) 9/10

A solid 9 for me. Slipped in disk 1 of DVD set around bedtime and watched the 96 minute movie. Then slipped in disk 2 and watched all 3 extras -- also great if not greater in giving you the bigger picture. Great, amazing, not just in terms of landing the plane and no lives lost but the context of the event, the aftermath in terms of this being a national and international hurrah. Also you discover how and why the movie was made.

What I think they did was this -- in the investigation they fed real pilots in flight simulators the parameters of the flight and had them try to reach an airport, La Guardia and one in New Jersey. They were trying to determine if Sully made a mistake in not trying for a runway. It was a pivotal plot point at the beginning of the movie.

According to the movie (don't know how accurate this part actually is):

the investigation briefed the pilots on what to expect and then let them practice repeatedly in the simulator until they were able to successfully reach La Guardia and the next nearest airport in New Jersey. Being ready and rehearsed for an emergency is quite different than Sully experiencing the unexpected double engine failure IRL.

Considering Sully landed that jet in the middle of the Hudson with zero fatalities and only 5 serious injuries, it really was "The Miracle on the Hudson" and he made absolutely no mistakes. Sully is a hero and all-around stud.
