the first 3 minutes of the review are non-spoilery

Live In Front of a Studio Audience: Norman Lear's "All in the Family" and "The Jeffersons"

7/10. But my god did Jamie Foxx nail George Jefferson. Amazing performance by him. Woody wasn't even close for Archie.
Yea, I agree. Jamie Foxx was amazing, and Woody just didnt nail it. I thought overall, Marisa Tomei did a good job as Edith, although she seemed to overact in a couple of spots.

It is impossible to overact the role of Edith. No one chewed the scenery as much as Jean Stapleton did in that role, and it was exactly what the show needed.

BBC Bodyguard via Netflix 9.5/10

As far as series go the plot is air tight, you can find holes but it is as good as it get. Acting is awesome, story is awesome if there is a season 2 it will be very hard to top. It don't have any cliffhanger it wrapped up really except some minor detail. Best thriller I ever seen.

Martyrs - 4/10. Much more tame than I expected and I couldn't help but think it was a waste of time.

House Party - 7/10, though maybe that's a bit generous. Good 90s comedy. Certainly nowhere near as good as Friday or CB4, but still holds its own.

I'll be generous and give Rim of The World a 6/10. It's basically Goonies meets War Of The Worlds. If that sounds funny to you, give it a try. If not.... stay away!

I thought it was more Attack the Block meets Stand by Me. I think I would give it a 5/10. It is competently mediocre, but not in a bad way.

thx for the recommendation.
I binge watched it.

acting was good except the main star. he was as stiff as Keanu reeves.

minor details:
1) the rich girl
2) what caused the bomb to explode?
3) What did the public relations guy say to middle eastern guy on the phone minutes before the bomb exploded?
4) Why did the Secret Services division give the Home Secretary that tablet in the 1st place if they didn't want her to use that info???

yeah, #4 isn't a minor detail. it a pretty big plot hole.
but overall, I did enjoy it. 8/10

Well Rami just won an Oscar acting the same way but I do agree it was stiff.

1) the rich girl along with Longcross still unknown
2) They explained it said it was timer(When Home Sec on stage for speech) + pressure sensor(the Asian activated it while standing close to stage) to trigger the bomb
3)I think they covered it while interviewing him but I don't remember
4)Good point, guess that will need to explain by the SS or the PM.

Captain Marvel 7/10 Funnier than most recent marvel movies. That cat kills me.

I wanted to like Marvel, but actually fell asleep in the first 30 minutes. I'll try watching it again. For some reason Brie Larson doesn't resonate with me (funny side note: Reddit is full of discussions on how they had to blur her barefoot scenes because her feet are incredibly janked up Google if you dare!)

Avengers Endgame however- 11/10!!! Pretty sure that movie had everything you could ever want in a final Marvel movie. I want Chris Hemsworth to play Thor and do nothing else until the universe ends.

I sort of remember Laugh In. Definitely remember some of the standing gags like the joke wall, or whatever it was called. It was pretty left-leaning, wasn't it? Anti-war, pro-hippie (hehe).

I agree that political comedians really should be more even handed, but pandering to your audience is what pays the bills.

Bill Maher is kind of a known quantity after all. And I can count the milliseconds I've ever watched him.

Laugh-In is on Netflix this month if you want to catch up....a lot of legendary comedians got their first exposure there. Also, it's difficult to be a balanced political comedian in today's environment- the person elected President isn't a conservative or a liberal (though he claims to align with the GOP, but isn't doing anything a conservative would normally do). The fact he's doing something absolutely bat-shit crazy every single day makes it hard not to focus on him.

if that guy never got on stage, then the explosion would never have happened?
ugg.. I'm subtracting -.5/10 stars for too convenient coincidences if this was the case.

also, why did the female cop rush towards the stage?
it looked like the star had no clue what was going on and just rushed to the stage because she rushed to the stage?

They explained in order for the bomb to be undetected(by dog) it need to be air seal but bomb need O2 to boom, the bad guys/girl need someone to stand over there to activate the valve and let o2 in. Yes if no one get to that spot the bomb will not go off.

The lady cop rush to the stage because no one is suppose to be on stage other then Home Sec, she rushed in to protect the Home Sec. I assume David react to Kim(?)'s action and rush to stage.

I haven't heard about the janked up feet (I stay away from Reddit), but apparently they hired a butt double cause she didn't have a big enough pooper. At least that's what I heard.

I still need to see Endgame. Guess I'll have to wait until it's out for rent.

Captive State 7/10

Felt more like a long ass trailer than a movie. Way too short for the story to be fully fleshed out. As others on imdb said, it would have made a darn good mini series.

Booksmart 5/10. I had to force myself to watch this, didn't made it to the end.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters 8/10

As long as you go in knowing that this is a Godzilla movie, you will not be dissappointed. It did right what the 2014 movie kind of struggled with and that was getting huge monsters fighting on screen. The SFX budget on this thing had to be HUGE. The script was actually a little more "not dumb" than your typical Godzilla movie.

10/10 for Avengers:Endgame

Had everything you wanted in a Avengers movie and nothing else.Unlike many other movies of its sort this one ends on a sad and happy note even if the happy note ended up kind of sad.No spoilers from me but if you have seen it then you know exactly what i am talking about.

That ending though wow and i thought the one before it ended interesting. I am glad for the ending in a way cause it goes above and beyond what every other movie in this genre does and i certainly couldn't predict this one.

Do want to see this. I liked the 2014 movie so if this is even better I'll be happy for sure.

Captive State -- 6.5/10

Alien invasion film about a group of resistance fighters trying to overthrow, or at least ignite a war with, the alien "Legislators." I thought the plot/narrative could be a little confusing at times, and the characters are pretty thin, but it was ok overall. Not much action though, I will say that. I think a great follow-up movie could be made but going on how poorly it was received, unfortunately I don't think we'll see a sequel to this. If you like sci-fi invasion films then I'd say give it a shot, otherwise you'd probably not enjoy it (and even then you might not).

I give it a 5/10. It did not deliver at all, even on the dramatic front. It needed fleshed out considerably more as it was very erratic. It was also way too ambiguous in the end.

Each to his own, but I was much less impressed. Way too long (I almost went to sleep in the first 45 minutes), and overall mediocre. No suspense at all really, since you knew they were going to revive most of the highest grossing franchises.

Saw Rocketman today. Well done overall, but not as good as Bohemian Rhapsody, IMO. Tyron Edgerton was outstanding as Elton John however. I would give the movie overall 7.5/10, but Edgerton I would give a 10/10 for his acting and singing. Every bit as deserving of an oscar as Remi Malek.

The new Twilight Zone. 4/10 Overwhelmingly mediocre, only one of the ten episodes would have made it on the air in the original series, the others would have been left on the cutting room floor. Production values were good, but the stories and writing seemed like they had been done by people who never even saw the original series.

Brightburn....7.0/10. Slow burn on the first half, then it gets your blood pumping on the 2nd half. Some of the scenes will have you cringing in horror. I mean, the "glass scene" will have you looking away. Anyone else saw one of the characters and instantly thought "Badger?" Superman definitely is not a nice person.

John Wick...7.5/10. I remember watching a commercial years ago for the original PS1. It went something along the lines of "blow stuff up...blow some more stuff up" and I remember me and my cousin were just glued to that commercial. Forgot what the game was. Well, John Wick can be summed up as "kill some people...kill some more people" and a good time will be had by all. I think the story telling was tighter in 1 & 2. Chapter 3 kind of lost it a bit with trying to flesh out the world too much. Don't get me wrong, I love world building, but there's such a thing as introducing too many elements. For example, the whole "elder scene" should have been removed. And don't try to run over John Wick with a car. The man has leg's of steel.

EDIT: Fixed Typo
