The Zen would only be compelling to me if I had more than 30 GB of music. As it stands I have 12.51 GB.

Not sure if this is dead or not.

Mine rang up at $499 today but they had a sign that said "clearance $299", so the manager just overrode the price at checkout. I had a $200 gift card just begging to be spent, so I was a happy camper.

It was an open box item.. but its in good condition... the headphone covers aren't opened but everything else is...

I just read AT's 1/2002 review of the iPOD and it sounds impressive. However, AT doesn't seem to have written any reviews on portable music players since then.

Is anything newer, better, other than the new iPOD's?

Also, does the iPod play uncompressed files too?

How's the fidelity quality?

I was initially upset that it didn't have a manual but I found that online...

I just thought that since people haven't been able to get in on this deal...

I would put it out there first before taking it back to the store...

I can confirm this deal has risen from the ashes. Picked up a windows 1ogb ipod from the Cutler Ridge, Miami BB last night. The manager, who refused me one the day before, was pissed! They still had a few mac ones left.

Credit to Jack who persisted with this and let me know it was back on yesterday evening.

Just returned from the CompUSA in Colma, CA. A poster by the entrance offered (one) 10gb ipod and around six 20gb ipods on return/clearance. The 10gb only had the power adaptor (no cable, remote, etc.) and the ipod for $199. I picked up a 20gb with all of the accessories for $299.

The store's computer still had the 20gb ipod at $349. I had to go to customer service to adjust the price to $299. YMMV

If anyone is interested in a 10gig ipod for $199 then definitely check Target stores. I picked one up on Saturday in Brighton MI and they still had one left. New in box with all accessories.

I found FIVE 10GB (Mac) units at a Target in my area for $200, but I'm leary of converting the Mac unit to PC. I know that the Updater is SUPPOSED TO work, but I don't want a $200 paperweight. Anyone convert a Mac iPod into a WinPod?

bought a mac ipod on saturday night. formatted it for windows with a program called winniepod updater in a matter of minutes. you really have nothing to worry about when it comes to the conversion.
