Brick and Mortar Circuit City stores are clearancing Canon Powershot G3 cameras for as low at $429. (Best price online is $504 from dell with coupons.) Online CC has clearanced them to $579, don't buy and pick up! Just use the website to find a store that has one. The first store I went to was out, but were clearing them out for $465. The sent me across town to a different store that still listed 5 in stock. When I got there the sign said $429! On top of that, if you need a good photo printer, they're giving $50 - $75 rebates on select photo printers.

YMMV, but I just got a SMOKIN' deal.

[Edit]
Wow, now this deal is even more smokin. Order the camera for pickup online and get a $50 gift card for buying a digital camera over $299. Rebate Link

When you get to the store, have them adjust the price since the in-store price will be much lower.

Net price, if you're lucky, could be $369!

i just sold my G2 and accessories to get an S400.. the g series is nice, a lot of manual controls its just too much extra weight on my hiking trips.

The G5 is coming out soon, but any of the G models are nice.

G series are top of the line before you get into the serious cash cameras. I love my old G1 and would not give it up for the world.

CC online check does show...

"Was $599.99, Now $579.99, Save $20!
Free Shipping!
Clearance Item - While Supplies Last"

So, checking online for these doesn't help..

I already have a Canon G2 and paid 350$ for it brand new last month.

I would have liked to get the G3 for 80$ more, but I am fine
with what I have, I think its a great deal..

The S400 is nice and small.. but really no manual control for
slow shutter.. no remote control.. just a different camera
and I already have a small S100 digital elph to pocket easily.

Heh. The CC website says:

Was $599.99, Now $579.99, Save $20!
Free Shipping!
Clearance Item - While Supplies Last!

Woo-Hoo! $20 off a $600 camera, what a deal! Seriously though, I just bought that camera from Dell for father's Day. Cost me about $546,with tax. I'm thinking about stopping by my local CC's to take a look and maybe get one for myself too.

i just got back from cc
sign said $599, register said $427
clerk said "you called this morning, right?"
me: "called?"
"yeah, called to check the price earlier..."

okay, now i have to go into a 24hr timeout from this thread because i am too angry and will probably say something that will get me into trouble

edit: thanks to the op! don't let these victims of LACC (Lazy Anandtechers that Call and then Cryfoul) get one down! keep posting!

Checked one of my local CC, the price was $419.99. It is so tempting but I'm short of money, so I asked the sales person how many they had in stock. They told me 1 open box, and another local store had 2 brand new at the same price. I didn't check the other store by myself, but I hope this could help those who live in Northern Virginia and are interested in this camera. The store being referred to as "having 2 in stock" is the Tyson's Corner, Virginia CC.

I used to have a G1 and it was an AWESOME camera. I sold it and traded up to a G3, which I paid about $600 for, and it was worth *every* cent. It's a great camera, easily the best I've ever used, and far outperforms similar cameras from the likes of Sony. As I hear it told from another friend into photography, only the Nikons really give the Canons a run for their money.

Between this and the G5, I'd go for the G3 right now, since the G5 adds very little on the G3 but will cost nearly twice the price. Maybe when the G7 hits I'll snag one, heh. But really, if you want a great camera that can do it ALL automatically or surrender control when YOU want it...this is the camera to get.

sweet, i just snagged 2 of these babies from a local Circuit City!

I called earlier today, and like the previous user, the sales rep. gave me $599 as a price. I even asked them to ring it up at the register, yet they still insisted that it would be the same price.

Fine.

So after work today, I come home and call up another Circuit City. $419. Sweet.
But they were out of stock.. so I asked them if the other store would give it to me at that price. Fo shizzle.

Dropped by, snagged all they had left, boom. Lazy sales reps.

I live in Rochester (upstate NY) and I got one at my local CC for $429 , it was their last in stock. Also, if you use the CC credit account, you get 12 months 0% interest.

Wow...Several people in this thread are giving this $450 camera as a gift. Some generous people here. Can I be your friend?

Seriously, I just bought an A70 and love it. I would love to upgrade.

call just about every store in the los angeles area.. more than 10 stores
was just about to give up.. then I found the one in fullerton had it on clearance for the price of $424.99!! had 3 in stock. picked up two.. that means they still had one back there 5pm on 8/22. took almost an hour to drive there.. 2 hours roundtrip..

it's all worth it.. G3 is real cool. at $455 after tax.. I think it can get lower.. but I am happy I got it. comparing to my old S10, it's like night and day!

can anyone who get it at around $420 ish scan me their receipt ?
I probably can try to pm them.
if you do scan it, don't blacken the transaction number cos they can't verify the price if you do.

TIA
