They only have the 52mm for the G2. If I had a G3 I would still get the 52mm again. The end is threaded for 49mm filters which is a very common and less expensive filter size. It also blocks much less of the viewfinder. The only real advantage to the 58 mm size is that Canons 3 add on lenses are 58 mm. All you need to use the Canon lenses with the 52 mm lensmate is a 49 to 58 mm step up ring ..

I saw an item over at that site that lists BARGAINS on various TECH stuff that CCs were clearing them for $419-$450 YMMV. The web site listed it as $599 w/$20 discount. I went to the Dearborn, MI CC and they had it for $458(!!:disgust: ), so I moseyed back to the office and started calling around. The Troy store didn't have any new ones, but had 3 open box units. The clerk checked the system and found 2 in stock in Novi @ $419. I called Novi and mentioned the GC from the site and the guy said, "I can do that for you here.", so I left my name and went there after work.

Walking in, I checked the Sunday sale paper and saw that a 64MB PNY CF card was $20 (after $10 instant and $10 MIR) and with the purchase of any PNY memory, you got a FREE USB Card Reader worth $20! Sweet!!!

When I found the guy I talked to, his name tag read that he was the Sales Manager and he sent a grunt to get my camera. Without even being reminded (though it'd been a couple of hours since I'd called), he went over to the rack and plucked off a gift card and asked, "Do you want me to just deduct this off the bill now?"

KA-FRIGGING-CHING!!!!!

In the end, I got the G3 for $369.99 + $29.99 for the 64MB CF card w/free reader + tax = $423.98 and there's still 10 bucks coming from the rebate.

Not too bad IMHO.

Between getting the 200GB WD for $100 AR at BB and a whup-butt camera for less than 4 bills, it's been a high value, but also high cost week here at ATHD.

Wouldn't change a thing!

Just curious why do people ask for a price scan? Can you actually take it to another CC store and they will match it? I just dont see someone printing out this scan and taking it to another CC and them matching it? If so how about in another state from the price scan?

Thanks!

CC is CC no matter where you go, and they will match another one of there stores anywhere. I checked that with the Sales Manager this past week.

This is a great deal, but I'm finding it hard to justify this purchase or G5 or even upgrade all the way to EOS10D from my S230.

No they wont. At least not here. I confirmed the 419.99 at 2 Florida Stores out of this area. I called the Fort Myers Circuit City and asked them if they would match the price- they said yes, get the location and we'll call and confirm the price. I went in, gave them the store number and phone #. They call, the sales girl askes if it's open box, they say no, she asks how can they sell it so cheap, they tell her it's on clearance. She hangs up and calls her manager. After talking to the manager she tells me that it was a price mistake and that the other store has fixed the price. I'm not going to stand there and argue, obviously they don't want to sell it that cheaply. But they LIE. and made me waste a trip.... :|

I had that happen with the pm deal on the MS wireless kb & mouse the other week in the same store. It was a different story this week though, I went straight to the sales manager and asked him about this one. The kb & mouse was a $30 pm and this one is a $128, go figure. Sometimes you have to remind them of the store policy and you can always call coroparate and let them know of your exp.

According to the website it is a Online mail in form for the GC of course they could give this to you at the counter if you pushed for it. YMMV

As I related above, if you call the store to do a stock check, make it sound like you'll order online for PU there and they may do the same. It just doesn't sound like anyone's asking.

I just got denied at the Brea, CA store trying to pricematch my receipt from the West Covina store. The Brea store called the West Covina store, and the manager at the West Covina store told the manager at the Brea store not to pricematch

Just picked mine up and the girl did a 110% pm to the CC receipt that I brought in. Bringing it down to $409 from the $579 web price that I ordered it at. No questions asked and I am a happy camper at $359 after $50 GC. Now to find a deal on a good photo printer and my Christmas shopping is complete for the wife!

was this a salesperson? or a manager? I tried talking to a salesperson, and they told me to go to the customer service desk, who told me to go to the manager. The manager then got someone at the customer service desk to call the West Covina location, who denied the pricematch

I started taking pics with my new G3 at the Harley 100th birthday celebration this weekend. I am very happy with the upgrade from my s100. I can immeadiately notice the resolution increase. I just need to learn how to use all the manual features. My teleconverter lense and adapter should be here next week. I am stoked!

This was a salesrep, I went and ordered on-line. Paid the full $579, then I chose to pick it up in store, I get there and tell the rep that I am picking up the camera with the email slip in hand and also say I need a pricematch. No questions asked, it was all handled within minutes.

I would definately print out the receipt, order on-line, print out CC pm guarantee from there website then go in with all guns loaded. If all else fails, complain to corporate about it. Or buy it for the web price if you are afraid it will be sold out, then complain to corporate. You always have 30 days in which to return it if they deny you the credit.

I did the same thing, ordered online and brough confirmation email with. I had to bring the checkout girl the clearance tag becase she didn't believ the price diference. If they won't pricematch and it's 419 in store just tell them you want to cancel your order and buy one in store. They would be stupid not to do the PM.
