all you motherfvckers talking about how poeple who drive automatics are pussies. wait till you have to drive to work and back everyday in stop and go traffic on a stick shift.

I do drive to work every day...and I do drive in stop/go traffic..and yes, I do prefer manual. If your left leg can't handle the clutch, work out more.
Or he can keep his Auto, have a higher resale value, have an easier ride home, and be able to eat sloppy hamburgers on the ride home too

Well, depends on the car... in some cars autos actually drive the value DOWN. ie Supra TT or DSMs. Most people don't like sports cars or sports coupes/sedans with autos.
Desire not retail value though.

Congrats! It just takes a little more practice and you'll have it down cold. Until I have a wife, I refuse to have a car with a slushbox- both cars in my sig have sticks.

You are now a man.

Yeah, once you get through your head that you HAVE to push the gas to rev up to 2k+ RPMs to engage first gear it's all easy after that. I was letting out the clucth too much and too fast and not giving the engine enough power. During the "Lesson" he showed me that even if he slammed on the gas and shifted into 1st the weight of the car made the engine do it's work and not blast out of the engine compartment like I thought it would do. :Q But one thing I noticed is that my Dad's 99 Honda Accord's clutch pedal sure does give your hamstrings a work out.
You have to pull your leg to engage the clutch? :Q

Or mess around with your GF while stuck in stop and go traffic.. too much worrying about your "stick" would spoil the fun hehe

But in all seriousness I owned both an auto and a manual (just sold).. for everyday driving, bad weather like snow, being able to start the car even with a dead battery, and just for having fun I loved the standard.. but for going to work and anything in between autos own so I'll keep my auto.. they each have their pros and cons.. I be sticking with my auto till I get an actual sports car..
