Im sure many of you have the George Foreman grill, as do I.I know some have similar experiences with it to mine.My only issue with it is that my model has no temp control.Ive found its not necessary for chicken, but for my personal taste its just too hot to have much control over levels of "doneness" if you will while making burgers. It also dries out things that are thinner cuts even when you watch it like a hawk. And you cant immerse the cooking surfaces on the Foreman grill where this ones are removable.
Personally I think these things are a great addition to the gas grill.I took some time to search several options on the web and $60 is competitive with similar models by various brands,so this is a very good price at $24.Shipping was $6Linky

The one thing that this grill does NOT have and the George Foreman one does is the ability to grill both top and bottom at the same time.

That ability allows you to have a very even, juicy cooked steak whereas with a grill like this one, the steak might not be evenly cooked on both sides. Also, the meat tends to be more tender if you cook both sides at the same time since the meat is not exposed to air to dry up.

Just my 2 cents.

Yes,you do have to write yourself a note so you remember to flip it half over half way thru cooking...

I got this deal about a week ago and just tested my grill for the first time last night. So far, it's great. The dishwasher cleanup is what sold me (that and the $20 pricetage). I actually got one to replace my Foreman grill. It's simply too hard to clean. Don't forget to use a coupon to get the $20 price (coupons always help you keep a fat wallet).

Cmon this only cooks on one side, that means twice the time. I'm sticking with the George Forman Lean Mean Grilling Machine, or at least the Buster Douglas Fat Buster

DonBlack is right. I bought one of these at B&M clearanced to $14.99 Cleanup is a breeze. The whole thing comes apart and fits in the dishwasher. Let's see Georgy's do that. This thing has a great adjustable thermostat and it is spacious. I can fit 2 huge T-bones on there and still have all kinds of room for burgers. The Foremen grill is way overpriced and a pain to clean. This thing beats it in many ways.

I agree that the Foreman grill is a pain to clean (although if you scrape it and wipe it while it is still hot, it
cleans up very well with little effort), since you can't toss it in the dishwasher, but I have had two of
the indoor single sided grills and they don't sear in the juices as well as the Foreman grill. You need
a two sided grill to do that or a grill that gets much hotter than those indoor heating element models
do (that is why the better outdoor grills have higher BTU potential). I'll stick with the tough cleanup,
but the better results from the Foreman grill.

leonc,

This one will sear the steak. If I turn mine up all the way, I get a steak with sear marks that tastes like it was cooked on a outdoor grill. Another neat thing if you can see it in the photo, is the fact that several of the non stick S-shaped grill elements are seperated. This allows the grease to drop directly below the cooking surface immediately. There is hardly any grease smoke or splatter.

But will this "knock out the fat?"

I love the foreman grill. Enough that I named all my cats george, shaved my head and read off of cue cards whenever i use it. But the only bad thing is i got it back when it was new. The later designs were really nice with the bun warmer and all.

I just ordered one of these along with some other stuff(sheets, towels, bathrobe) from the clearance section. The George Forman is a bitch to clean up!
