UPDATE: Now there's a Radeon 9800 with the 10% off coupon, about $76+shipping
128MB,DVI,TV-out,AGP,256-bit Non-Pro, kinda warm.

EDIT: Hmm. Not sure about this one. The picture doesn't look like a 256 bit 9800. The memory chips are all in one line. Maybe someone who knows better can elaborate on this? Apollo's web site does not list this card, only a 9800Pro.

OR GF4 Ti4200s:

Warmish deal for all you budget minded or old school video card guys who could care less about DX9:

128MB GF4 Ti4200 w/DVI & TV-out $47.50
64MB GF4 Ti4200 w/DVI & TV-out - $35.50
64MB GF4 Ti4200 w/TV-out only $34.50

There's a 10% off coupon floating around out there that can be applied to these, thereby reducing the price an add'l $3.50-4.75.

I had one of these for years. Card ran great. Just know that this is not a good budget card for gaming now because of DX9 as stated before and I think it's pixel shader 3.
If that's the one that BF2 needs.
If you play easy games like Roller Coaster Tycoon or something, or even the first Halflife or Quake stuff it's a great card, just not for the new FPSers out now.
lol, I paid $300 for mine.
Not crappin, just my $.02

Probably because that card is a piece of crap compared to a Ti 4200. The Ti is a 4x2 pipe design, 128-bit memory, compared to the 4x1 and 64-bit memory of the 6200.

That card would get shredded by the 4200s in anything non-DX9 and if you're buying that card to run DX9 games, well, you may as well not run DX9 games then. Besides at $55 vs $38 shipped (for the cheaper 4200s) you're looking at a nearly 50% price increase from the 4200. A nearly 50% price increase from the 6200 card you linked there, will get you some substantially better cards (i.e. 6600s, X700s).

I am not offering up the 4200 as a cutting edge 7800GT-beater (it was only a great midrange bang for your buck card even when it was newly released). It's just a nice little card (at a low price point) for anyone that can tolerate lack of DX9 capability. It can probably even handle some of the new titles at low to medium quality settings at 8X6 or 10X7 (assuming no AA/AF). It's "thrifty".

My TI4200 64MB card is the oldest one I have in my stable.

It's still chugging along fine & runs everything my kids (pre-teen) can throw at it.

Dora games/Sponge Bob/etc. run beautifully & without problems on this card.

I may just pick one up as a back up mines getting long in the tooth. lol

Thanks for the deal!

I know your pain. I paid $595 for the first Geforce 2 64mb GTS, top of the line back in the day. Card still runs, 4-5 years later lol

Hey, I see that all 3 cards have a fan on it. My PC is pretty much silent now, and I want to know if these video cards can operate if I remove the fan. 80mm fans are pretty loud. If I can run it without a fan, then I will order it in a heartbeat.

You will probably need to add one of those heat pipe heatsinks to make it silent.

Toms or Anandtech, or maybe both, did DX8-DX9 comparisons on some newer games, you will not miss much running DX8. Two systems in my house have 4200's and they play the new stuff fine (2800 Sempron 754 & 2500 Barton). Also used them for systems I built for the Grandkids and I suggest a 4200 anytime someone asks what they should get. Most people are not so into that they are reading this forum, so the 4200 has satisfied everyone I know. Forget the 6200 and other low end DX9 cards. Can't beat a 4200 in bang-for-buck IMO!!!

This plays CS:S and Half-Life 2 just fine (1024x768) on high settings. Will not play BF:2 you will get dropped back to the desktop.

I was also able to play Quake 4, Star Wars Battlefront II and Empire at War with mine.

Good to throw into your family member's machine, so they can play some original HL/CS, Warcraft 3, or the like.

Thanks for the deal geecee.

I picked up a 64MB card with the DVI. If memory serves the 64mb version not only has a higher clock speed but also uses 4.ns chips compared to the 128mb lower clock speed & I believe 7 or 9.ns chips?

Either way the 64MB card is perfect for my application.
