Hmmmmm........ maybe I need a math lesson, or maybe I'm just not awake yet. I figured the deal like this: PM to Compusa's $139.99-$10 INSTANT REBATE = $129.99. Minus the 10% off Best Buy coupon (they shouldn't be able to weazle out of that, right?... their own coupon) =$129.99 - $13=$116.99 less the TWO rebates that will total $60 that will print out at the register =$56.99 plus tax. If that works it's hotter than a cat on a hot tin roof. Isn't that a legitimate deal??

Just got back from BB with this exact deal! That = to about $.56 a gig. Scorchin Hot!

I don't have a scanner, but the rebates should have been printed out to you by the Best Buy cashier in reciept paper. And you should get two "Rebate Reciepts" one for each rebate form. And if your experience was anything like mike, the big yellow form as your reciept.

The 10% off coupon can be found in the Dec. 30-Jan 6 double issue of Sports illustrated page 17. It is a legitimate Best Buy coupon, no cheating, no fraud, etc. If you want one of the hottest deals ever on a HD, don't be lazy. Go to Wal-mart and pay less than $3.99 for a copy of the mag & use the coupon. The Dec. issues of some of the mags are getting harder to find as they are pulled from the shelves for the January ones. Yikes! I didn't think of price matching since I was so freaked out they wouldn't take my printed coupon! If I bring just the reciept and the two ads to best buy tomorrow, might they price match it? I hope thats enough. I don't want to bring the drive since I already installed it and all and the upc's are on their way to WD and Best Buy.

That's exactly what happened to me. Apparently, my local store did not receive any of the 100gb drives in so they substituted the 120 gb drives. Do you think I got a good deal? $89.99 (not really able to lower with pricematch) and no MIRs, but only 2mb cache. I thought about it and decided to take the storage over speed.

I got in on this deal, but didn't PM to CompUSA. The Preferred Customer coupon worked just fine and can easily be found on "other" hot ddeal sites. Excellent find!

CZroe: You can still PM as long as sale is on & competitor has the same item (which it is) & has it in stock. You are correct. Item USUALLY needs to be exact same, HOWEVER; I guess YMMV and they basically can do just about whatever they want to, to extend good customer service. (are we talking about Best Buy here, just kidding, LOL)

Gotta love the girlfriend. She bought me one of these for my birthday. Heh.

She actually went to Bestbuy and tried to buy it and the cashier told her that she couldn't use the coupon on the drive. So she sees the drive in the Compusa flyer, goes to Compusa and sees that it's not the SE and it "only" has a 2mb cache. So she goes back to Bestbuy and just shoves the coupon in a different cashier's hand and got the deal.

Yea Baby I got in on this deal I used the price match. Th cashier called compusa While I was standing there! I had a computer print out of add and at first wouldnt accept it but I insisted it was a copy of stare add. So he makes call and never noticed the drives were differant and they tell him yes thats the price.So I got drive for $129.99 Minus the 10% coupon (also with out a problem from web)that took off another $13.00 for a total of $116.99 and now i got the rebates $40.00 from WEstern digital and $20.00 from Best Buy. Total cost $56.99 Great deal .Thanks Guys!!!

Got just that deal today at BB with PM to COMPUSA $56.99 after rebates no problems at ck out Store was in central new jersey had about 15 drives on shelf love it P.S. will go looking for that $10.00 off $50.00 coupon tomorrow to bring back for total of $46.99 +tax unreal ( 50 Cents= 1GB )

Tomorrow I am headed to best buy with comp usa papers in hand. I will try this exact deal only I will get if twice (need 2 for raid) minus the 10% off coupon on the second one. At $100ish for 200 gigs that is exactly scorching HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CtK: Technically, the way I see it, you will get an additional $13 off if you use the 10% off coupon found in the mags(only 1 coupon per item per order ?). In addition, you are entitled to the difference, plus another 10% of the difference. Direct quote from the sales receipt jacket under price guarantee.So...... now it might look something like this on your PM: $149.99-$22.00 (PM difference including the 10%) =$127.99 less $12.80(10% coupon)=$115.19 -$60 in MIR's=$55.19 plus tax. IMHO smiles.
