I agree. ATI wins hands down at the moment. Even a driver update/optimisation wont help the GF FX now, cos the R350 will blow that out of the water as well.
As for nVidia other markets, ATI seem to have the edge there as well with the 9000 / 9000pro / 9100 / 9500 / 9500pro / 9700.

IMO, nVidia need to do what ATI did to them last september, and catch ATI off guard with a new and revolutionary card.

Dedication to a corporate entity is idiotic. I've had two consecutive Nvidia-based cards, but ATI is the way to go for now.

ATI definitely has a winner with the 9700 PRO while Nvidia's response is the long-delayed GeForce FX with its highly unusual cooling solution. Although the FX can beat the 9700 PRO in most benchmarks, it's not by much. ATI will also be releasing the R350 which will clobber the GeForce FX. Nvidia is still doing very well, but it's lost the performance lead for now. ATI is a serious competitor while Nvidia is reduced to playing catch up.

ATI wins hands down. Overclocking is a BIG deal when you are talking about the cream of the crop, and taking that into account the 9700 is even more of an undisputed winner than it already is. People aren't pointing that out quite enough I don't think.
