I am sure most of us have now looked at what bulldozer brings to the table, so, what is you overall feeling about it ?

It was everything I expected!

Crap =/

You don't have a 6+ month delayed project and end up in a good place.

AMD probably would have been better off die shrinking the phenom again

I feel that AMD needs to give us true 32nm phenom II's to overclock and at least have a decent gaming chip worthy of the FX brand name. Bulldozer is a sever chip plain and simple and it is simply unsuited for the desktop environment. I think there APU platform is more attractive than bulldozer ever will be if i buy an AMD product in the next 2 years it sure as hell isn't going to be an FX Chip... I think people should start writing letters to AMD telling them we want 32nm Phenom's and brand them Phenom III...

Well I had to be sure :'(. After the [h], toms, and anand all said the same thing I ordered my 2500k off newegg 30 minutes later. Hopefully it comes just in time for the weekend

And add two cores to X6!

This

We needed a 32nm Phenom III last spring. So tired of this.

And this

Probably would have been a better setup for the customer and them. A 2 billion transistor CPU (not cheap) that performs hit or miss compared to the previous 2+ year old architecture? Would have been better off with a 32nm Phenom II X8, which probably would have weighed in at around 1.2-1.3 B transistors. That could maybe buy some time till the future iterations of Bulldozer hopefully pay dividends.

We knew pretty much it would be multithreaded > single threaded, but it's worse than I thought it would be.

I feel mostly disappointed at the single threaded and power numbers. Some of Bulldozer's multithreaded numbers looked decent, considering the weaker single threaded performance. I didn't expect the FX-8150 to actually beat the 2600K in 7-zip. But mostly disappointed. It just makes me wonder what Bulldozer could have been if AMD could get Bulldozer to at least match the IPC of a Phenom II.

I'm still fine with my X2 5200+. But I hope AMD comes out with a competitive chip by the time I'm ready to upgrade in 4-5 years or else Intel's going to go through the roof with their pricing.

Just as expected, they delays couldn't have been because everything was well.
It wouldn't be so bad if not for the price though.

Feels like the P4 launch all over again, well for general desktop use anyway. Low IPC, high Ghz required to extract performance = high power usage. All while having a large die costing more to produce compared to Sandybridge, which has Integrated graphics too!

But surely, that can't be true? SURELY???? Who would design such a thing in a time when Netburst showed those days are well and truly over. Lets hope they know that an improved Windows scheduler and future software will make this turd shine.

I disappoint.

In other words Llano without GPU part and bigger cache

But what I feel is irrelevant - what I want to know is JF "those benches are not representative" AMD stance on reviews

Of course it's a disappointment. How would it not be?
But it must be considered that AMD didn't exactly plan on having all these process issues. The processor was intended to be delivered in 4.5GHz-ish range and if that was achieved, it wouldn't suck this bad - it would actually be pretty competitive.
I'm actually expecting the frequencies to start ramping up pretty fast now, especially since Anand had no trouble pushing it to 4.6 on stock cooler.
My only true disappointments are transistor count and power usage. Those are way over the limit.

Well here is how I look at. They lose to the phenom 2 x4 and x6 in performance dough!!!!! If they can price the 8 core cpus at $130-150 dollars I could see me biting, but no one is gonna pay $245 for these cpu's. Amd is nuts for even proposing that its absurd. That $245 would get you a 2500k with motherboard. Bring down that FX-4100 quadcore to $99 dollars and people will bite $115 seems like a good price but the $99 price tag would make it a seller,(which they will most likely do IMO).

So to sum it up DROP THE PRICES NOW!!!

So much power consumption, yet so little performance. D:

I thought AMD was making a bit of a comeback with their Llano and Brazos processors, but this is just an epic fail.
