From what I heard, Queen's has a very high reputation for chemistry. Not sure if it's the same with chemical engineering.

It truly depends on what you want to take. Wanna be a vet? go to Guelph. Engineer? Waterloo or UNB even had a good program. Its getting harder and harder to get into a University in Canada. A Co-op program at Guelph required a 95% out of highschool to even be considered when I graduated. When I applied I know US students required a year of secondary education before they even could fill out an application.

Funny story about vetrinary medicine. I know several people that failed out of the program that ended up going on to be physicians Not good enough to be a animal doctor but....

Friends don't let friends go to Western.

I went to both Mount Allison and then Dalhousie University...I have heard good things about all of the above schools!

I have visited Queen's before...found the people to be very nice!

U of Waterloo is VERY presitge for things such as Comp. Engineering and Comp. Science. U of Waterloo sends more graudates to Microsoft than any other school as well I believe (saw Gates say that in an interview on TV). Don't know about chem. engineering or health sciences though.

Not sure why, but for some reason, U. of Waterloo sticks out in my mind for being a really good school. I've also heard of U of T, and Geulph (just from ATOT though). I live in NY.

Univ. of Toronto for engineering, it is ranked top 5 in North America.

But be aware, only the "smartest" ones will survive, otherwise it's pure torture.

Getting in for Chem Eng.. or Eng. Wanna take Med school in US, but we'll deal with it later... Eng is more employable in case I don't get into med school. So there's teh laydown.

EDIT: I'm finding it funny, because Waterloo has the #1 rep for engineering...

Simon

In my opinion, Waterloo kicks ass for Comp Sci..but for Eng its UofT. UofT lets more people in, but they kick a whole lot of people out as well. They make you feel good when you get it, but then they crush you when you find out you are stupid!

wait till you are in 3rd year.

I live here, so I've heard of all of them.

I'd go with UofT thats your best option. Close behind is Uof Guelph. they are both really great schools for what you are interestind in.

The hardest thing is deciding between UofT and Wloo... Because Wloo is more 'prestigious' but more people have heard of UofT.. so in a sense they also have a bigger rep.

Augh.

I doubt this is the proper way to pick a school.
You dont seem to be thinking about it from the right perspective either.

If you think applying to an IVY league american school their gonna accept you based on the reputation difference between waterloo and toronto, than gd luck...

If you do some research, you'll figure out one of these two schools has a much better eng program, while the other has a much better cs program.

For a hint, go track down waterloo based RIM and ask them who they hire.

Tell me, who do they hire?

I know 6 people (off of the top of my head) that work there, and each one of them has a different educational background.
