So I'm applying to unis this year, and given my marks I'm not likely to get shafted from most of them. I'd like an opinion from the "international" community to see if you've ever heard of these unis before, because when I apply for a job, sometimes reputations matter as well. So, I'm not expecting you to know all of them, maybe none, maybe one or two... just vote for the one you've heard most (good things about) of.

Thanks! Your decision may very well shape the course of my future.

EDIT: Getting in for Chem Engineering.. or Eng, or Health Sciences. Wanna take Med school in US, but we'll deal with it later... Engineering is more employable in case I don't get into med school. So there's teh laydown.

EDIT: The hardest thing is deciding between UofT and Wloo... Because Wloo is more 'prestigious' but more people have heard of UofT.. so in a sense they also have a bigger rep.

Wish I could help you out but I don't have enough information on any of those schools to vote for one or the other.

Good luck.

Being from BC I've heard of them all.

U of T has the biggest rep here, just because it's the U of T.

I'd have to say though, that the one I hear the best things about is Queen's.

EDIT: I'm finding it funny, because Waterloo has the #1 rep for engineering...

Waterloo would be the most prestigious on the list.. 90% + averages for most the courses on the list.

Ryerson rejected my friend last year (as well as myself), and he had a 92% average.

I don't know how good each of them is in your field, but you can't go wrong with any of them.

In my opinion, Waterloo kicks ass for Comp Sci..but for Eng its UofT. UofT lets more people in, but they kick a whole lot of people out as well. They make you feel good when you get it, but then they crush you when you find out you are stupid!

How would UofT be cheaper for you (as you would be a International Student and pay like $25K CDN a year!) ??? Cuase there is this girl from the US who is in Eng at UofT and she says its cheaper for her... I don't understand how?

Western is best known for business and medicine. From your list, I'd say that Waterloo, UofT and
Queens have the best reputations. UBC is also known for engineering... however that could just
be because they do high profile things such as hanging VW's from well known bridges.

We also managed to rip off the U of W Huskies' championship trophy one year

I'm not an engineer though... but my younger brother is

The top 4 universities in Canada are:
1.UT
2.Queens
3.UBC
4.McGill

It depends what program you're looking at. I go to McGill and I'm pretty sure the med school is in the top 3. The business side of McGill doesn't seem to be that great and probably isn't in the top 5. Waterloo is definitely in the top 3 as far as Eng is concerned. Out of the univerisities you've listed there, I'd go to Waterloo as a first choice for Eng., second choice would be UofT, 3rd would be Queens
