The problem with GM stylists is that they either don't have any taste or they are trying to make something radical, but are too afraid to, to they only go half way.

I don't mind the Dodge. I think it is totally original and sort of reminds me of those long nose semi trucks.

It looks like some kind of Frankenstein truck that has a bunch of pieces that really dont go together.

EXACTLY!! They do a half-ass job at everything stylewise. They go and screw up the front and keep everything from the cab back the same. I mean, the front end now looks TOTALLY out of place now on this truck. The old design was MUCH better.

Ugh. I'm a Ford guy so I stick with the F-150's, but I actually like the current Silverado. That thing is nasty.

GM has been in a "Ghetto" phase with their cars for quite some time so I guess they are just expanding it to their truck line.

It's a pickup truck. Who cares what it looks like? You need to make a fashion statement while you're hauling trash to the dump? The thing that really pisses me off is those Xtreme S-10's. With all those ground effects it has the ground clearance of my Geo:Q Why not just buy a damn car?:|

If looks didn't matter, the Aztek would be a sales success and the '94 Ram would have sold as poorly as its predecessor. Looks certainly play a big part in the purchase of just about any vehicle. Pickups and SUVs included.

And most pickups I see here in NC are used as personal transportation...not as "haulers"

The Aztek looks a ton better now with the body color cladding.

GM allways take a few years to get a model good/OK looking, the transport mini van was nasty when it first came out.

The Vibe needs color matched cladding in a bad way

Where's Laust?

GM makes the ugliest cars/trucks by FAR. I have no clue what's going on in their design team's mind.

Unfortunately there will still be people who buy these things and think they look good. It's such a pity.

That's what pisses me off. People buying pickup trucks that will never use them for their intended purpose. I'd rather have the manufacturer concerned about the mechanical aspect of the truck rather than aesthectics. I'm just saying, if I needed to buy a pickup truck, I would base my decision solely on the powertrain, chassis, etc. I would not even consider the looks because I'm not buying the vehicle for looks, I'm buying it to do a job. Hey, I'm an engineer so I guess it's just my way of thinking.

Who cares what the intended purpose is? It's their money!!

How many Corvettes and M3's do you see doing 155MPH down the interstate or making 0-60 romps in 4.5 seconds? Not many.

More missteps by GM. I think it's hilarious, given their past treatment of my family as customers. We won't be buying another GM again. With GM's hideous styling (nobody would be able to actually own that piece of garbage), and Ford's very spotty reliability lately (friend towed a U-haul cross-country and nearly burnt out his tranny with tranny cooler, plus other reports), I think Dodge has a serious chance to take a bigger chunk of the truck pie shortly. Can anyone say Dodge Ram SRT10?

Well, good point. It just seems wrong to me, I guess I don't think that way. When I buy something technical(not clothes, music, etc.), I get the thing that does the task at hand best for the least amount of money.

exactly. Style and class status is the major and can almost say the reason people by a car. when im stuck in a traffic jam and look around and see a corvett, Lexus or pickup just sitting there like I am, I just think that at least my Geo is paid for hhahaha.

How many people have you seen actually haul stuff in their 30k+ Z71? I know that the vast majority of trucks I see that aren't complete beaters are used as their daily drivers, don't have a scratch on them, the bed is completely clean, and the driver is white-collar.

Yep saw pics of this after the DAS.... The Chevy looks like sh!t.... I like the GMC tho... which I would rather buy a GMC anyway... my 99 is a Chevy only because I got a killer price from Century Chevrolet, I left the lot for $28K after taxes and everything on a brand new fully loaded 4x4 ex cab.... pretty sad it was cheaper then A to B cars...

Anyway I prefer GMC over Chevy anyway cause if you ever needed service GMC service shops don't have near the crap in em Chevy dealerships have dealing with POS Cars. Plus GMC parts are much cheaper then when you get em from Chevy... I replaced my transfer case fluid with the new what we call "Smurf Fluid" they came out with in 2000... at Chevy they wanted $10 a quart, at GMC I got em for $7. $3 a quart is killer savings when you have to buy 6 of em, 3 for flush and 3 for final.

All in all tho the drivetrain is still the best of the 3 in the 1/2 ton series... 3/4 and 1 ton is Ford Superduty all the way, the Powerstroke is still the proven king, at Truckfest those 7.3's were handling over 1200lbs of torque easy.
