I wonder if flashing the bios to a GF3 Ti 500 would help out? It would increase the voltages, right?

I would guess that flashing the bios would be "dangerous" - yes?

And if I were inclined to do so, how is it done?

Hmm, I bit on this -- I figure I will give it a shot. I would like to see if the card can actually achieve 600mhz on the memory. If the core can get to say 220, and memory at 600 -- this would be a sweet card. Maybe good enough get me to dump my 8500.

I ordered one as well. I talked to the guy at buyeee and he was a nice dude, plus their reseller rating is pretty good. I'm willing to bet that it will kick ass for the price of a normal ti200.

<< Porkbun, what are you smoking? That thing for $17 is 128MB of samsung memory, 7.5ns and 3.3V. >>

Maybe you should look at the post a little closer before making statements like this.

Original Post clearly stated 17X <-------.00+SH

<< You can find this 3.3-ns version at www.pricewatch.com for $17x+S&H. >>

I cant wait to see some benchmarks and overclocking results on this card.
Great post Spotdancer.

My bad, didn't see the x, anyways, what a coincidence that I searched for 3.3-ns and it came up with samsung memory for $17.

Excellent post!!

Had I not done the BB $100 Ti200 deal I probably would have jumped on this one.

BTW, I've heard good things about eVGA. They used to have some links on their site to a few reviews about their products.

The product # at eVGA.com is 064-A4-NV40-S1. Here is the Link to the PDF Product sheet.

The other product # on the Product Sheet ends with A1. However, if you look at the "At a Glance" section, it says 4ns. I'm assuming this is for both A1 and S1 models.

I just checked buyeee.com. This is exactly what it says:

This is the Enhanced Version for eVGA part#064-A4-NV40-S1

That part number exactly matches the part number from the 4ns Ti200 PDF product sheet. Something isn't right. Would eVGA manufacture new cards with 3.3ns RAM under the same product number?

I would not be surprised to see that card hit 600MHz.
Just finished testing two Gainward GF3 Ti 200 Golden Samples ($170 newegg).
Both ran great at 262 core and 561 memory and stock as-shipped cooling.
I think the memory on those was either 4.5ns or 4ns.
This only confirms that the Ti 200 itself is unbeatable for overclocking.
Hopefully the evga will do as good as the Gainward.

Unfortunately, Buyeee.com did not finish what they were trying to say, which should be: "This is the enhanced version for eVGA part#064-A4-NV40-S1. The new version is part#064-A4-NV40-E1."

More unfortunately, eVGA does not have this card posted on their website yet. I would guess the reason is that since "technically" it is not in the stores yet, they cant or wont show it. Just an educated guess. Or maybe their Webmaster sucks. Who knows and who gives a rats ass anyway.

Take a trip to PriceWatch.......there are three or four etailers carrying this new product. All of them describe this absolutely new video card as having 3.3ns.

For the continuing drove of nay-sayers and disbelievers............dont buy the card. Stop crapping. End of story.

Well, I can't speak for all the other skeptics, but I'm not thread crapping. I'm just trying to provide facts as I see them. Sorry, I did not notice the E1. If in fact this card is the real deal, I will be one of the first to get it, and compare it with my Ti500.

If you went to AMD's site for a list of MB's or periferials that were compatible with AMD, chances are that you would not find what you are looking for, since they are very slow updating this info. Same with many others. I agree with spotdancer, if you don't believe it, don't buy it. We shall see next week who laughs last...

Hey, OC!

I dumped on a thread about a new Gainward video card being advertised by Buyeee.com. I was sure they were mis-describing one of the older Gainward cards. Turns out, it was a brandy-new card. I had to eat a little crow, and apologize.

I know the eVGA card is not very well known, but I have had one of their MX cards for about two years now without any problems. I bought it because of the very fast (then) memory. It was THE fastest at the time. It also had a very good price, just like this new card.

I am sure that this is the real deal, so if you do decide to check it out vs your Ti500, please put me first on your list of people you let know.
I would love to know the results.

Thanks!

Should be close. Memory is faster than a Ti500, but the default core is slower. Overclocking the core SHOULD get you up to or past a default Ti500, thus making it numero uno on the speed charts.

I bought a GeForce3 Ti from Buyee.com and paid about $13 extra for 2 day shipping. I didn't receive the card until 17 days later. After seven phone calls, they credited the 2 day shipping back to my VISA, but don't order if you're in a hurry. The card was fine, BTW, just late.
