I think part of what eVGA says has to do with their policy of voiding warranties on over-clocked cards. This alone will make them downplay the potential of the card. Obviously, they cant tell you "This thing will run at xxx speed" if it means you have to overclock it to get there.

Also, the core clock speed is important, but not as important as the memory speed. Look at the Gainward GF2 Ti200. It has a core clock speed of 250, but it cant hold a candle to the Ti 300 because of the insufficient memory bandwith.

This card, with its "possible" and probably likely memory speed of 600 mhz will kick some real booty for those that want to overclock it.

However, it will be a few days before we actually find out.........but, man I am looking forward to getting this card!!!:Q:Q

Hey, RobsTv...........what?...........you forgot to mention Amex Blue with all the pricematching. coupon clipping, rebate submissions and everything else you listed.

Wassupwitdat?????

I think if you took a survey, most people would not want to go through the hassles you describe in order to save a few bucks on anything.

Just mho.

But, hey.........if you got the time and energy..........go for it!!!!!!:Q:Q

Would be nice if Visiontek would come out with an enhanced version of their TI-200. Their TI-200 uses the same core as the Ti-500 so with the 3.3ns memory you would get better than Ti-500 speeds.

I know on my visiontek ti200 I've had the core up to 250. I didn't even try to go above that.

Keep in mind guys that just because the memory is 3.3ns, don't get your hopes up too high. For all of you that have week 44 or 45 Visiontek GF3 Ti200s that are running at 520-550Mhz as far as memory is concerned, this is with 5ns RAM!!

There are also some of you that have Gainward or Hercules Ti200s with 4ns RAM that can't even get to 500MHz. It's not only the speed ratings, but the overall quality of the memory.

I'm getting one of these 3.3ns wonders, most likely later on this week, so I will let you guys know. As for the comment regarding the VT Ti200 and Ti500 having the same core, that is incorrect. The VT Ti500's core is capable of achieving higher speeds than any VT Ti200's core. The VT Ti200's core, however, does overclock very well.

hey. i'm a bit confused about this card. do you actually have to overclock it to make it run fast or does it come set at a high speed?

I bit on this deal. ETA was suppose to be today, 12/10. Anyone get any shipping confirmations?

If you look about 7 posts higher, OCDuron said that it comes clocked at 400MHz.

How can you tell if your Visiontek card is a week 44 or 45???

Mine overclocks to 220/500 with absolutely no problems. Haven't gone any higher 'cause that's where coolbits maxxed out.

Yep, I called them and they were swamped. The girl told me she'd get my shipping confirmation out today, but she said most of them will go out in the morning. Don't sweat it, yours will come soon...

<< I know this is kind of off topic, but what would you guys sell a

Visiontek Xstasy Geforce 3 ti 200

and a

MSI Geforce 2 pro for.

Both are of course used, though not very long and I have original boxes, disks and crapola.

Just curious.
>>

xsquid, turn your private messaging on, i'd like to talk about maybe making a deal on that ti 200...

It's turned on on now, I didn't even know it was turned off.

Use NVmax. It allows you to oc the core higher. I don't like their auto settings. I juse use it to oc.

Enjoy your cards guys! You'll have a collector's item once NVIDIA nukes eVGA and kills it. Gainward tried the same stunt by putting 4ns RAM on a GF2 long before the Pro came out. Then the 3.8ns version of Gainward's TI-200 mysteriously disappeared too. What a coincidence.

NVIDIA doesn't like losing control of its specs, official or otherwise. 4ns RAM it can overlook because it's still slower than the TI-500, but 3.8 or 3.3 on a TI200? NVIDIA won't play nice!

A test of overclocking was done on the VT card here is a quote and a link to the article:

So, here are the results we obtained:

Xtasy 6964 (GeForce3 Ti 500) - 250MHz/560MHz, nominal - 240MHz/500MHz;
Xtasy 6564 (GeForce3 Ti 200) - 250MHz/460MHz, nominal - 175MHz/400MHz;
Xtasy 5864 (GeForce2 Ti) - 270MHz/440MHz, nominal - 250MHz/400MHz.

Well, what can we say here? Look, both Xtasy 6964 (GeForce3 Ti 500) and Xtasy 6564 (GeForce3 Ti 200) showed overclockability typical of GeForce3. It means that Xtasy 6964 (GeForce3 Ti 500) and Xtasy 6564 (GeForce3 Ti 200) are most likely to feature the same NVIDIA GeForce3 chips onboard. That is why the overclocking potential of the Xtasy 6964 (GeForce3 Ti 500) already working at higher frequencies appeared not very high, to put it mildly. While Xtasy 6564 (GeForce3 Ti 200), which nominal frequency is lower than that of GeForce3, overclocked just impressively, which isn't at all surprising.

As for the graphics memory overclockability, it appeared quite predictable: 560MHz is a typical

<< has anyone tried the card yet? also, what about this card here? >>

ThePanda...........yeah, that Suma card looks really nice.

I did come across a review which included that card, and believe that it came out on or near the top. However, like Soltek motherboards (which are really great mobos) you cant find them in the States. They are common, and well regarded in Asia and Europe. I dont know if you could find a supplier that would send it to the States.

Bevo..........thanks, man...........I just got my notification this morning just like you said. Looking forward to getting this card!!!:Q:Q

Hey, all!

I noticed a couple of references to oc'ing utilities - NVmax and Coolbits.

Can someone direct me to a link where I can find these? Also, if anyone knows of other oc'ing utilities I would be interested in knowing what and where they are also.

Thanks in advance!!

Go to www.guru3d.com and go to the download section. There are a number of oc and tweak utilities. Coolbits is just a registry editing prog that opens up your nvidia software where you can adjust the clock. Nvmax is sofrware to change other settings and it allowe you to oc further than coolbits and the nvidia software. Like I say, I don't like any of the tweaking software. I just like nvmax because it allows higher oc'ing. A lot of people like the geforce tweak utility and it's there also.

It looks like bozo beat me to it while I was typing the post.

Thanks Bozo and xsquid for the link.

I just spent about a half hour at that site, and they have a lot of stuff available for oc'ing and tweaking. Some "home-grown" stuff too.

They had a great review of the GF3 Ti 200 comparing it to Ti 500's, Radeon's, Pros, etc. The board they used was an nVidia reference board w/4ns memory, and it did not have any fan on the chip, nor heatsinks for the memory. It still overclocked to great levels, reaching Ti 500 performance.

This new eVGA card has a hsf on the chip, and heatsinks on the ram - with 3.3 ns memory to boot. This card should turn out to be.......................................................A - W - E - S - O - M - E!!!!!!!!!...............:Q:Q

I feel like a kid at Christmas, expecting the greatest present of all time.

btw: What is not to love about the nic "Bozo Galora"?????..........wish I thought that one up!!

The eVGA site now has info on the new "Enhanced" board right on the home page.

"eVGA.com is pleased to announce our newest product line, the Enhanced, or E1 series."
