- I think I said few women during the interview, not no women. If the latter, I misspoke. There definitely were a few on AnandTech at the time.
- I was no longer in Quebec at the time of NowhereMom. I was in Ottawa. I suppose details like this can be overlooked as there are only so many questions that can be asked during a one-hour interview.
- During the interview, I tried not to get or sound too emotional while reading the death post for Jon. I willingly restrained myself so as to not make people relive this too strongly, myself included. So I sound a bit detached and robotic.
- For some reason, being in a radio booth with headphones on, in front of a microphone, kinda made me concentrate somewhat more on how I said things rather than simply what I said. It was 'intimidating'. In the back of my mind was the idea that 'acting' too much while reading the passages was in some small way reiterating the deception. So I did not read them with as much emphasis, tone changes, pauses, etc... as when when one normally reads a story to others. Twas a very thin wire to thread between this and becoming too detached.
Also, having reread so much of the written material to refresh my memory of the hoax made me oscillate between becoming 'academic' (like analyzing past history) and very emotional (as if some emotional memories resurfaced. Makes for a very weird blend in the final product.
I suppose the format is too short for many new answers/details to have surfaced. The program is only 28 minutes long afterall.
- It was good to hear Jeff's voice. Once again, sincere apologies to him and all who were deceived/manipulated.
- One more thing. I did not get a scholarship in highschool as said by Jon (got some later, in undergraduate and graduate years) but an unknown mentor paid for me to go to the oldest school in North America, a private school then called Collège Des Jésuites (now Collège Saint-Charles Garnier).
- Jon's program always features music. It's part of the program's style. Some will like this, others won't. He was a musician before.
